I like them and I like this one, but I've had it for a year or longer and I have only worn it once or twice before. My goal is to wear it more but it is far from being essential for me. There is finally a chill in the air and Christmas items are out. Can't we just have Halloween first? This year I created my Halloween tablescape by lying down the black and white polka dot runner and some black placemats. I placed three pedestal plates down the center and began filling them with spooky stuff from my stash.  A few extras on the side and it was done. Each place setting is built with a silver charger, black Dollar Tree plate, and a white plate from my Oneida greek key set. A crow has landed in each plate. Skeletons removed from a Dollar Tree garland were tied around each napkin. Eyeballs are found in each Dollar Tree glass. This little guy and the hands are my favorites. Happy Halloween! I found this cute top in the juniors section for less than $10. We love Halloween and skulls around here so I just had to have it. It takes a while for the weather to cool off around here so it's the perfect fall top. Just to make things feel a little more like fall, I wore my booties with it.   Linking up with WIWW .

Hello and welcome to a tour of my Halloween mantel. We are a little behind but things are coming together nicely. I didn't really know how I wanted to decorate this year, so I just pulled out my stuff and started arranging. I have an assortment of things collected and made over the years and a couple of new very quick DIY projects displayed. This photo  shows some new things. I left the chevron panel from the fall mantel in place and added a "Beware" pennant banner cut with my Silhouette (pennants) and Slice (letters- Spookey Alley). I also covered the red books that were already there with Halloween scrapbook paper and labeled them with stickers to make some very quick DIY Halloween spell books. Here's a secret- the paper doesn't fully cover the backs of the books, but you can't tell because of the way they are arranged. Full shot of mantel:

  I am getting a little uninspired with crafting and blogging. There are still things I want to do but I don't have the same enthusiasm for them that I once did. I was drawing a blank when it came time to prepare this Must Do Monday so I finally decided to round up some of the best blog tips and journaling prompts I've found around the web. If you're looking to improve your blog or rejuvenate your interest, then maybe these will help you. You find some great post ideas here and if you're still stumped, spend some time promoting what you've already got.

Today I'm sharing our take on potted severed Halloween hands. This outdoor Halloween decor was inspired by another project I found a couple of years ago. We made ours last year and put them in the place of my plants that are usually by the front door, along with the spooky potted trees.   I ran out of time for posting these last year and I'm about to do the same this year. I'm off my normal posting schedule this week because we've been on vacation. But we are back and Halloween is on! I decided to take things a step further than the zombie hands project . I bought some hands and severed fingers from the Dollar Tree and then took acrylic paint and painted them to look like bloody, rotted, decaying flesh. I also attached some small pieces of spooky cloth with glue. The hubby attached some dowel rods to them for planting so they would stick up further out of the pots.         These were a fun project to do . Sharing here: Think Pink Sun

I found a really affordable pair at Payless and decided to give them a try. I love them. And these are comfortable too. They go perfectly with this outfit that I have pinned many , many times in hopes of creating my own version. I finally got my skirt taken it so I could do that. This outfit was one of my 7X7 remix but I thought it deserved some personal attention so I'm reposting here.   Linking up with WIWW .

But this year they are proudly displayed on my sofa table! These were a lot of fun to make.   To make your own, you will need miniature birdhouses, dowels, and small wooden plaques for bases. Mine came from Michaels.  You will also need wood glue, paint, skeletons, scrapbook paper, Mod Podge and plastic bugs if you like.       My sweet hubby drilled holes in the houses and the bases and set the dowel rods for me. Then I painted them with orange and black acrylic paint. Then the really fun part began. I decorated them with Mod Podge and scrapbook paper and various cut outs made using my Slice and the Spook Alley cartridge . I added some minature skeletons (taken from Dollar Tree garland) and mini plastic spiders.  

Blazer- Forever 21; blouse- Ross; pants- JCPenney shoes- Payless   I saw lots of coral and leopard combinations on Pinterest so I had to try it out myself.  This turned out to be a fun work outfit. I've discovered that you can treat leopard as a neutral and pair it with almost any color. What's your favorite way to wear leopard print?   Linking up with WIWW .

  photo source   It's that time again- fall! Time for pumpkin everything! Since we've gone primarily paleo with our diet, I'm so happy to find that pumpkin is still easily included. Here are ten recipes that are paleo, gluten free, and or/dairy free. You can easily make them more compliant by substituting honey for sugar, almond milk for regular milk, and coconut oil for butter.   I picked up this necklace at one of our local thrift stores for $4.50 and I wasn't crazy about the worn leather strap or the large white pendant, but loved the colors of the beads because it they were just what I was looking for to go with a new outfit. I wanted a shorter necklace and the large pendant was just too much. So... what to do? I took out my jewelry pliers, some chain, jump rings, and found a smaller bead in a complimentary color in my stash. I threaded the bead on a  head pin to create a new pendant and attached it with a jump ring. I attached the chain to each side with jump rings and had a new necklace! Thanks for stopping by.
