 Napkins or dishtowels provide a cheap   an inexpensive way to make outdoor pillows. I got this idea from In My Own Style . She used dish towels, but you can also use napkins. I was browsing in Tuesday Mornings one day and came across these water repellant outdoor napkins. Perfect for outdoor pillows. And at approximately $8.00, I only have $4.00 invested in each pillow. These were the perfect colors for the color scheme I'm using in my backporch makeover. I also used Diane's idea for making the pillow form from shopping bags. Here is one of my forms (it could be fluffier, but I used all the bags I had for four pillows, so they will do for now.) I used the same adhesive and followed her directions. Hi and welcome to my new followers. Sorry I'm late with this week's Tried It out Thursday. Sometimes life just gets in the way.  I was browsing in Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago and found the perfect placemats for making pillows. Just the color I want to use on my back porch and one has butterflies too. Even better is the fact that one has a pattern on both sides and one has a solid back so I have reversible pillows for more options. These are so easy to make. Use placemats that have two layers of materials. Pick one end, or part of it, open with a seam ripper and fill with fiberfill or quilt batting. Sew the end closed again. I love easy projects like this that allow me instant gratification and satisfaction over completing something- and saving money too. The mats were only a couple of dollars each. Pillows can add a lot to decor with little effort, but they can also be expensive. I've got lots of ideas marked to sew (that's another post) but recently came across some very quick and easy ways to make pillows using placemats, napkins, and dishtowels.
