The challenge at A Spoonful of Sugar this week is to make a bookmark. I chose to do a corner bookmark. I used a flower from a GinaK Designs set to dress it up. It is made from K&Co. papers. Here's mine: Just google corner bookmark tutorials for lot of great directions and ideas.

SFYYT

So many challenges, so little time. I do love Jen's SFYTT and I've been trying to play with them more recently. Here is my take on this week's. Stamps: GinaK Designs Paper: BasicGrey Urban Prairie Tools: Marvy scalloped oval punch, sewing machine, Copics, Nestabilites label die Accents: Rhinestone brads

Going green

Several challenges this week called for the color green. I made this card for two of them- Flutterby and Simon Says . I used greens and blue-green copic colors on my butterfly. The image is from GinaK Designs and papers are by K&Co. The layout is Mercy's sketch . Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday kitty

Hi, hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day. I did. Hunny got me some stamps and a couple more Copics. He really knows the way to my heart, lol. Here is a card made using the Sketch Saturday sketch . I've also combined this with All Sorts 3,2,1 challenge . I used 3 buttons, 2 patterned papers, and one image. Isn't this the sweetest kitty? I really don't like cats, but I love this image. As a side note, (and I hope this doesn't offend anyone) hubby jokingly says "Bella likes cats- she just can't eat a whole one by herself yet". Bella is our 10-month old Malinois shephard. Stamp: Purrfectly Delightful GKD Paper: Cosmo Cricket Accents: Buttons, Making Memories stitches Thanks for looking!

Missmatch and a Flutterby

I've used MissMatch Ketto on this card and used the sketch from Sketch Saturday again. I also incorporated the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge call for hearts into this one. Stamps: Stamping Bella Paper: Unknown (from my old stash) Accents: Prima flowers Tools: Sizzix heart die, heart punch I also made a card last night for StampTV's sketch challenge. Since I used a butterfly, I thought I'd share it at the Flutterby Wednesday challenge - it's an open challenge this week. Stamps: GinaK take flight Paper: K&Co. Tools: Nestabilities oval and scalloped oval ; Copics Accents: Rhinestones- Michaels

Sit a while...

Well, it is Monday and I can only imagine that it's the weekend so I can sit a while and relax like this card suggests. I made this one based on the sketch at Friday Sketchers. The stamp is from GinaK Designs. The paper is just card stock. It was embossed with the Cuttlebug Moroccan folder. Thanks for looking. Have a great week.

Back to the blog

Hi blog readers and followers. Sorry for my lapse in posting. I have not been participating in any challenges or blogging since the last post because I have worked on a 62 page family history scrapbook for my dad's 70th birthday. It took all of my spare time and I had to let other things go. It was worth it though. We had a party last night and all the family and friends really enjoyed looking at the book. I did get a chance to participate in some challenges this week. I used them to make birthday cards for my mom and dad. Their birthdays are two days apart. The first one was for my Mom and uses the Friday Sketchers sketch, a charm that fits the Simon Says challenge , and red posies that inspired my color scheme for the Flourishes Floral Finesse challenge . Stamp: Posies (Flourishes) Paper: K and Co.; Bazzill Tools: Square punch Accents: Brads, flowers, charm My second card is for the sketch challenge over at StampTV. I rotated the sketch. Thanks for looking. I hope to be worki...

Red and Green

I made another challenge card today. This one combines four challenges. I love to make cards and I'm not trying to slack on the challenges, but I love it when they work together. Simon Says is asking for Red and Green and ASpoonfull of Sugar has challenged us to make Christmas cards. What better colors for Christmas than red and green? I used Mercy's sketch because I wanted to make my card a money/gift certificate holder and the sketch fit that perfectly. I added a little gold for the StampTV Potluck Challenge . Here is my card: I put a punched border and some of the patterned paper inside too, but I forgot to take a picture of the inside. Stamp : GinaK Designs A year of flowers Paper : DCWV Christmas glitter stack Accents: Brads, glitter dots, sentiment rub on MLYB, DCWV rub on stitches Tools : Nestabilities, border punch

Out of the lines

Some of my favorite and most admired card makers have started another challenge blog- Crazy4 Challenges ! And the first challenge was a sketch and just the inspiration I needed for the StampTV out of the lines challenge. Here is my card that I made to fit these two challenges: I stamped the poinsettia from A Year of Flowers set by GinaK Designs and colored them with Marvy Markers. I cut them out and layered them on a circle that I cut with my Nestabilities. I actually cut a ring with the Nesties by cutting a circle and then the next smaller one within it. Stamp: A Year of Flowers (GinaK) Paper: Bazzill Cardstock, Anna Griffin patterned paper Accents : Ribbon; Rub-on sentiment; Stickles Tools : Nestabilities: Marvy Markers

Masculine birthday card

When I needed a masculine card at the last minute this week, I realized that I don't have nearly enough of them on hand. So I combined the color challenge at Stam pTV with the sketch at The Pink Elephant's sketch challenge and came up with this card yesterday. Stamps : GinaK Designs; sentiment- MFT Paper : Cardstock; BasicGrey Accents : Fibers Tools : Nestabilities label; Walnut Ink

Seeing red

Only on my cards, lol! I've got two cards to share today that I managed to get done over the weekend. First is one using the sketch from Mojo Monday 95 combined with the red, black and white color challenge at StampTV. I colored the flower stamp with Marvy Markers and then stamped it. I filled in the flowers and leaves with prismacolor pencils. The large red panel was embossed with a Sizzix texture plate. Paper : Cardstock (Black-Bazzill); other Stamps: Simple Pleasures GinaK Designs Tools: Martha Stewart Zig Zag punch; Nestabilites long and scalloped long rectangles; classic rectangle Accents: Ribbon Card size: 6.5 x 5 in. Next is a card I made for a new challenge I discovered - Digital Tuesday Challenge . Digi stamps are beginning to be very popular and I discovered this challenge blog last week. Along with a digi stamp you are to use 2 design papers and 3 embellishments. I used three acrylic stones, three punched flowers and three button brads for embellishments. Now that I...
