DIY PVC photo background stand

Did you catch my round up of DIY Photo backgrounds ? Today I'm sharing how I've been taking some of my photos for a couple of years. My sweet hubby put this PVC backdrop stand together for me. We loosely based it on this tutorial , but adapted it for a tabletop stand, since most of my blog projects are smaller and will fit in front of a smaller backdrop. This is the assembled stand. I put a piece of foam board in the back to hide my junk, but then I decided I'd let you see it so below is just the stand. (and my unorganized junk in the background.) To make your own you will need: 1/2 inch PVC schedule 40 a cutting tool 2 tees 4 end caps 2 90 degree elbows clamps Cut your PVC as follows:3- 25 inch pieces, 4- 6 inch pieces, and 2- 14 inches pieces. The four 6-in pieces make the base by connecting to the tees and are capped off with end caps. One of the 25 inch pieces makes the top and the two 14-in pieces make the sides. The elbows connect them. T...

One Dozen DIY Photo backdrops

The hubby and I have been spending the last several weekends out hiking, enjoying nature and developing our photography skills. So of course, I have all things "photo" on my mind. Here are  one dozen diy backdrop ideas for when you can't count on nature and need your own backdrop for parties or blog shots.

WATW

Jacksonville Zoo August 2013   I don't even remember taking this shot, but I thought it was just too interesting not to share. This creature looks like he's playing peek-a-boo and sticking his tongue out at me. I think I know what he is but I could be wrong so I won't say, but if you can identify him, please let me know.   Linking up with:

WATW- Wattled cranes

August 2013   I've missed a couple of weeks of Friday photo posts, but I'm back. These are some more sights from last year's zoo trip. Did you know wattled cranes can grow up to six feet tall?

WATW- My Bella

I was attempting to work out Saturday, doing some sit ups in the living room floor. My malinois is always there to coach me. When she finally settled down in the floor with her kong, I noticed she was facing the most perfect light, so I grabbed the camera and took some shots.

Worth a Thousand Words (WATW)

Jacksonville Zoo August 2013   Just a photo, no words- because a picture is "worth a thousand words." Well, a few words- I'm moving this post to Fridays so I'll be more likely to remember to link up and share at a few link parties, starting with photography Friday.

Halloween fun

Oct. 2012   It's time for a little Halloween fun so I'll be sharing some Halloween photos for the next few weeks.

Worth a Thousand Words

When we visited the Outer Banks last year, we didn't see any wild ponies but we did stop to see these in an observation area at Ocracoke.

Worth a Thousand Words (WATW)

Hi, it's Tuesday, the day I share a photo from my life or travels. I provide very little description because, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Worth a Thousand Words

From my mother in law's garden May 2011 Hi all. In case your wondering what these posts are about, on Tuesdays I post a picture from my archives or travels and such. I don't provide very many details, hence, the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. They speak for themselves. It's just a way to share some photography and motivate me to edit all these photos!
