Verve WCMD Release week challenges

Verve is having a release week and has a series of sketch challenges. I'm trying to complete them and here is my first one for sketch 1 (VSWCMD1). Papers: K&Co; Bazzill cardstock Stamps: Verve Tools: Nestabilities, MS border punch Accents: Ribbon, button, Rhinestone

Clean and simple

Here is a card that I made for a few challenges. Verve is having a spring fling with challenges and I made this one for the first challenge "clean and simple with flowers". I've used flowers from Wishful Elegance by Verve. I colored them with copics and cut them out. I don't know if you can see but I embossed the top of the card with swiss dots cuttlebug folder. I also made this card for the Embellish Magazine borders color challenge. And I'm submitting it for Moxie Fab's Olympics of Stamping Challenge (Birthday). The layout was based on CPS 157.

New Mojo

Good morning! I hope you are having a great day. I have spent my morning making cards. Here is my card for this week's Mojo sketch . I'm actually getting a mojo card done before Sunday evening. For me that is a little something I take pleasure in. (Doesn't take much to please me, huh?) I've also made this for Stampin Sisters in Christ . The challenge there is to make a card for a new baby or new Christian. I really like this Jeremiah verse and what better words to encourage a new Christian. God really does have plans for us and once we accept him, He can put them into action. What an exciting thought. This is also for the Papertake Weekly challenge of New Beginnings. The best new beginning you can have is in Christ. You could also use a new product for the Papertake challenge so I used my new Spellbinders square die. It was a Christmas gift. Here is the card. Thanks for looking. Stamp: Verve Jeremiah 29:11 Paper: BasicGrey marrakech Tools: Nestabilities circles, square...

One more time

Yes, it's the Jeremiah verse once again. I'm still making cards to send to the Sunday School class. This card was made for the Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash #4- a color challenge. The layout of the card is based on the sketch at Little Paper Shop this week. Stamp : Verve Paper: Bazzill; K&Co. Accents: Buttons (Bazzill); flower, brad Tools: Nestabilities Next is a card I made for Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash challenge #1. It is a photo inspiration challenge. I pulled the colors from the photo. As soon as I saw it, I thought about Basic Grey Lime Ricky papers. The sketch is from A Spoonfull of Sugar . Stamp : Cruisabella- Stamping Bella; sentiment- MFT Paper: Bazzill cardstock; BasicGrey Lime Ricky Accents: Prima flowers, brads; BoBunny chipboard

I know the plans I have for you...

I've got to quickly post this one and go cook supper. Hubby is vacuuming for me, so I know he'll be hungry soon, lol. I made this card for the Weekend Sketch Challenge and I added some faux stitching around the side panel for the Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash Challenge 13 . (Leave it to me to start with the last one first!) Stamp: Verve Paper: BasicGrey Tools: Nestabilities, gel pen, paper piercer

The Goodness of Life

When you think about it, the goodness of life is not in all the big things, it's the little things, like a cup of coffee, shared with a friend, or savored in a quite moment to oneself. And the goodness of life is also found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. I created this card for a new challenge blog I discovered last week- Stampin Sisters in Christ. The focus scripture is: Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 (NIV) and the challenge is to create a card with a food or drink theme. I used the sketch from this week's challenge at PaperTake Weekl y for my design. Stamps : Verve Paper : BasicGrey Accents : Ribbon, rhinestones (Michael's)

marrakech mojo

I'm here today with my card for Mojo Monday 98 . I used paper from BasicGrey marrakech and was inspired to go to them by the OCC inspiration challenge this week. I already had fall on my mind. Papertake weekly has challenged readers to use colors we associate with a season and I was trying to put together a fall combo. The photo at OCC made it click. I've done some piercing on this card and further accented it rhinestones from Michael's. I just love the color of them. Paper: BasicGrey Stamps: Verve Beautiful kindness Ink: Memento rhubarb stalk and potter's clay Tools: Nestabilities circles and Labels Two; paper piercer Accents: Rhinestones; ribbon

Late mojo

I'm once again cutting close to the deadline to enter a challenge. How many times have you heard me say that? Is there any other way for me to do them? Here is my card for Mojo94. Stamps : Verve Wishful elegance Paper : BasicGrey marrakech Accents : Button, ric rak Making Memories; Marvy Markers Tools : Circle punch

Two in one

Given the limited time I have, I often combine challenges. This one combines two: Whiff of Joy challenge and Friday Sketchers . This was my first time paper piecing with my stamps. I have done this with patterns before but not my stamps. I should do this more often. Here's a little tip for you. I didn't have any flowers to match, so I colored white ones with my markers. This is an easy way to always have matching or coordinating embellishments! Stamps: Whiff of Joy, Verve Paper : HOTP; Bazill; BasicGrey Sugared Accents : Flowers, pearls Tools : Sizzix die

Mojo on Friday

I completed this card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge last night, but I'm just getting a chance to post it. I love butterflies. I got this set in the recent sale, and I know it's going to get a lot of use. Paper: Making Memories Stamps : Verve- Beautiful Kindness Tools : Fiskars treading water punch; Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder Accents : Pearls (Michael's); pen-faux stitching; Stickles

Challenges, Challenges, Challenges

I've been busy making cards today. This is my third post for the day too. That's more than I've done in a whole week in the past few weeks! It's so nice to have a break, but it's almost over and almost time to get ready for the work week. All of my cards in this post feature BasicGrey Wisteria . That seems to be my "go to" paper this weekend. First up is my card for the Cuttlebug Be Inspired challenge 32 - Butterflies. I don't have a Cuttlebug butterfly die, so I used a Sizzix die and embossed the wings with my Cuttlebug swiss dots folder. I also embossed a piece with the D'vine swirls and punched the small butterfly out of that so the little one is embossed too. The Dutch Dare Card challenge this week is to use glitter and or bling. I did both to my butterfly. And did I mention that I struggled with this? I made the butterfly and did not like the colors. I could not figure out what I wanted to do with it, but finally settled on what you see here. ...

Sketch and color challenge

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I found a little time to do some stamping. I'm catching up on some challenges. Here is my card for Mojo Monday 87. I'm a little late with this but fairly early to submit it for the OCC challenge this week, which is to use a sentiment as the focal. The sentiment on this card is from Verve. I love this quote. The colors were inspired by the PCP color challenge . Paper : HOTP; Bazzill Stamp : Verve Accents : rhinestone Tools : Cuttlebug swiss dots folder; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; Nestabilities circles and scalloped circles; scalloped scissors

Wishing you comfort

I just squeezed in this card for the CPS sketch this week. Sympathy cards aren't my favorite to have to make, but I needed one so I used the CPS sketch 116 . Here is the card: Paper : BasicGrey Wisteria Stamps : Heidi Grace designs; Verve sentiment Accents : flower punch; brads; ribbon Tools : Paper piercer

Mojo

Just a really quick post to share my Mojo card using this week's sketch , then I'm off to bed. The stamp is from Verve and the paper is Basic Grey Boxer. The bling cross is from Michael's.

Weekend Sketch Set

If you follow Scrapnextras , you know that Laura does these amazing card sets based on some popular weekly sketches. I decided that I wanted to try this, so in between all the painting Saturday and Sunday, I managed to pull this off. I used a brand new paper pack that I purchased last week- K& Co. wild raspberry . I am in love with these papers. Here are my cards: Here is each one with all the details: This one is based on Weekend Sketch challenge which was hosted by M.J. Albright . Notice the ribbon slide- it's a can tab from a Monster energy drink. Stamps: Flourishes; Inkadinkado sentiment Tools: Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Fiskars border punch Accents: Flowers, brad, ribbon, soda pop tab Next is the sketch from Taylored Expressions . I used stickles on my butterfly. Stamps: Inkadinkado; Studio G sentiment Tools: Nestabilities, paper piercer Up next is my card made with Amy's Friday Sketch. I used the same Inkadinkado butterfly stamp. Accents: Rhinestones- Michaels;...

Simon Says...

Make something with yellow and green for the first blog challenge . So I used those colors in my card and used Jen's SFFYT as my design. Here's the sketch And here's my card: Stamp : Willow with sunhat Whiff of Joy; Verve sentiment Ink : Marvy Markers Paper : Hot off the Press Accents : Flowers

Easter purse

What girl doesn't love a new Easter outfit, and even better, a new purse to match?! For the Verve Project parade , the requirement is to create "an egg-stra special" spring project or card. I created this cute little purse, which can be a card or treat holder. It would be easy to slip in a cello bag to hold a treat. Check out the project parade it you haven't. I just love looking at all the awesome projects the design team creates. Paper : Making Memories Chloe's Closet Stamp : Beautiful You- Verve Accents : Flowers 3 Sizzix die; Scribbles Swirls die; Making Memories Lemonade buttons and blossoms; brad

Learning new things

Last Wednesday the new video at Stamptv was all about coloring with colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I have to admit I have read about this before and was a little intimated. I thought that was something I could not do, but after watching Gina's video and trying it, I'm amazed at how easy it is. I colored an image using this technique and used the sketch at Stamps and Smiles to make a card. Here it is: Paper : Paper Adventures; HOTP, Bazzill cardstock Stamps : Unknown flower image; sentiment- Verve Tools : Martha Stewart Border Punch Accents : Brads

I love Verve!

Verve stamps have quickly become one of my favorites and I love all the challenges they host. Here are two cards I made last night for Mojo Monday and a special challenge from the Verve blog. The "springing forward" caught me and I didn't have time to post them last night. This one is for Mojo Monday 76. I'm also doubling this for the Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes. The challenge is to use Spellbinders. Stamps : cupcake-Verve Paper : Basic Grey Urban Prairie Accent : Ribbon (Michael's); Making Memories crystal brad Tools : Nestabilities label die The second card is for the Verve release challenge . Stamps : Verve- sentiment-Jeremiah 29:11; flowers-Meditations Paper : Basic Grey Urban Prairie; Bazzill cardstock Tools: corner rounder
