15 Mother's Day gifts to make- for the cook, gardner, and fashionista

Mother's Day is less than two weeks away now, but that's still plenty of time to make Mom a special gift. Here's a round up of 15 diy gifts from my blog that will suit Moms of all types. First, for the cook or entertainer :

Homemade air freshner

It's been a busy week so I haven't been able to post much. We were getting ready for a friend's wedding and I did make a project for that which I'll share later.

Bling frame, candle holder and card- Mother's Day Gift Set

I wrote this post as part of campaign with Blueprint Social. All opinions are my own. It seems like we always need a quick gift for an unexpected occasion. Mother’s Day is coming up, followed by graduation and the end of the school year. When I received my box of Gemz  and Bling on a Roll , I instantly started thinking about sparkly gifts for divas for those occasions. I came up with this card, frame and candle holder gift set. Perfect for mom or the girly diva graduate.   To make the card, I started with a sketch from I "Heart" 2 Stamp .    I love using a sketch as a starting point for a card or paper craft project.   I used a premade card base that is 6.5 inches by 5 inches.   To make the card: Cut a green card stock panel to fit the front of the card. Cut from patterned paper a 2 1/2 in. x 6 1/4 in. strip and two 4 in. x 2 1/2 in. strips. I used a piece of glitter patterned paper for my longer strip since I wanted this to be a sparkly project. I also p

10 Amazing Spring wreaths

I hung my spring wreath out last week (a little late I know, but we're still in season.) I made it a couple of years ago and I still enjoy it. When I do get ready for a new one, there's lots of inspiration out there. Blinged out clips and clothespins

Today's project is so stinkin' easy it can barely be called a craft, but the results are so amazing, folks will think you spent hours. I was recently sent of box of goodies from Darice containing Gemz  and Bling on a Roll . Look at all the fun colors Gemz  comes in!     I couldn't wait to play with this stuff so I'm sharing a quick little project ahead of schedule. I've got a bigger project in the works with some bling on a roll. I grabbed some clothespins and binder clips from my stash. (I saw a set of rhinestone clothespins at one of the craft stores recently but knew that I could make way more of them with a pack of clothespins from the Dollar Tree for less than what they wanted for the few in the set.)  I painted my clothespins with some white acrylic paint first. Once they were dry, I cut some Gemz to fit and adhered it. So easy! Gemz comes in adhesive backed strips and can be cut and shaped as you need it. I used a 1in x 12 inch strip of cry

Natural orange cleaner

I've mentioned that we've moved to a whole foods diet, no more processed foods. We've even done the Whole30 , and for hubby's sake, we've extended it out to a Whole45 as of this weekend. We've had a lot of extra stress, so he wanted to extend the program to see if he got better results now that things are settling down a bit. He's actually not wanting to reintroduce any of the foods we eliminated because he's seen such improvements in his health, so we may be following a strict paleo diet forever. I'll let you know how it goes.   I've started making efforts to be more "green" and natural in other areas too, like with cleaning products so I had to give this natural orange cleaner a try. You can read about it here at Apartment Therapy  and Kitchen Stewardship . Just like they say, all you need to do is toss the rinds in a jar. We've been eating more oranges and lemons on Whole30 so it' s been easy for me to quickly fill

Bringing spring in- Terrariums and mini gardens

Easter came so early this year! I hope you all had a blessed day celebrating our risen Lord.   photo source Even though Easter has passed, there is still plenty of time to celebrate Spring. My home could certainly use some spring touches. I've been particularly drawn to earthy things this year, so here are five ideas for creating terrariums and mini gardens.   Centsational Girl     Spring fairy garden- DIY Showoff     Pieced Pastimes     The Inspired Room     Tatertots and Jello   These are on my "Must Do" list.
