Slow traffic

source     Just a note to say that things will likely be slow on the blog this week. As if they could get any slower... I only post a couple of times per week anyway. Those couple of posts are a struggle and juggling of time. I just don't have time to create projects or posts. So... I've decided to save myself the stress for a week or two, and LET IT GO. I'm not going away forever, just reevaluating. I'm not as motivated by blogging as I used to be. I do still love the community but it's getting a little old or stale. I see the same old projects over and over. I'm not bashing anyone- I'm guilty too. I have no new inventions to share. Just my take on the classic stuff. And that's okay, but sometimes it gets old. I think everyone must struggle with this because it seems what gets linked up at link parties is of little substance now days or is a recipe. I get it- we all have to eat so it's easy to post a recipe since you are going to cook...

5 Great ways to improve your blog

I am getting a little uninspired with crafting and blogging. There are still things I want to do but I don't have the same enthusiasm for them that I once did. I was drawing a blank when it came time to prepare this Must Do Monday so I finally decided to round up some of the best blog tips and journaling prompts I've found around the web. If you're looking to improve your blog or rejuvenate your interest, then maybe these will help you. You find some great post ideas here and if you're still stumped, spend some time promoting what you've already got.

Just not enough time

Do you ever feel like there is not enough time in the day to do everything? Especially those of you who, like me, work a full time job and blog and craft for a hobby? There is some truth to that. There isn't enough time to do everything, so we prioritize and choose where we spend our time. Have you missed Must Do Monday for a couple of weeks? I haven't done a post because I've chosen to spend my time elsewhere- working on organizing my craft room and painting and finishing a new craft table my hubby built! I'm over the top excited to finally get my office/craft room in order like the ones in pictures I drool over. But it takes time away from other things, so for now, I may not get all of my normal posts up. I'm not saying I'm taking a total break, but I may not get it all up. Like today- no Tried It Out Thursday . I haven't been crafting. I've been cleaning and organizing and sanding and painting. So when I am back to a full schedule of posting, it wi...

Fabulous Friday Find- PicMonkey

Some of you will read this and think, "What rock has she been hiding under? PicMonkey is not new?" But for me is it. I usually add text and such to my photos in photoshop elements and I don't intend to stop, but I have limited time for learning things and have struggled with collages, so PicMonkey  is an exciting find for me. Or maybe I should say finding out how easy it is to use is a fabulous find ('cause I have heard of PicMonkey before, I just ignored it.) Last night I edited the collage from my Mother's Day round up post. I started with this:

Free social media icons (and other blog related finds)

Have you noticed my new look? I changed the header and added some social media buttons. For today's Fabulous Friday Finds , I wanted to give a shout out to Pink Moustache.  They have the icons I used as a free download. Need to know how to install social media icons? Check out Beautiful Dawn Designs tutorial. Want to add  "pin it" button to your posts? I followed this tutorial . You can also use this tutorial (the control+F tip is a lifesaver). Another neat bloggy find for this week is this tip on " How to see if your photos are being used on another site". Have a great weekend!

Missing something?

There was no Friday Feature today. As much as I like to feature and promote others, I've decided to discontinue this as a regular post. I just need to cut something out and this can be time consuming to communicate with others and make sure I have the post done on time. This post was not getting many views each week either, and no one commented with their opinion last week here or on Facebook, so it doesn't seem to be worth the time it involves. Maybe I'll replace it with a different kind of regularly scheduled post, but it won't be something that demands I do it each week. That way there will be a little less stress involved. Thanks for reading and following and I'm open to any suggestions of something you'd like to see here. I'm thinking of doing a "Friday Finds" where I just share neat tips or things I've found. That might still include neat Etsy shops, but will include other things too. How have you had to change your blog or posts t...
