10 Fun Ideas for DIY Photo frames

Since I'm having so much fun with photos lately, I'm going to need some frames to display them. There's nothing better than decorating a frame to suit your own needs. You can pick up plain frames at Michael's or Joann's and decorate them yourself for $1 to $5. Here are ten ideas for decorating frames: Pencil eraser dots- HGTV

Washi tape projects

Washi tape continues to be a popular item to work with. Last year I posted a round up of seven ways to use washi tape . So many more great projects have shown up so I think this topic deserves to be revisited. Here are five more ways to use washi tape. Least viewed of 2012

Yesterday I shared my top 10 posts of 2012 , according to stats on views. Today I'm sharing 10 of my least viewed, not necessarily the absolute lowest 10, and in no particular order, just 10 that caught my eye when I was scrolling through the view count. DIY mint earrings Spider web pumpkin

Washi tape clothespins

I made these as part of a bigger project that isn't finished yet, but these are so cute and fun I couldn't resist sharing them now.  I took some clothespins and covered them with washi tape. I chose fall colors to coordinate with my project. The washi tape came from Target. This was a really quick way to dress up clothespins . Think of all the ways they could now be used: magnets photo frames The planter and mirror in my previous post would be fun in clothespins dressed up like this. How would you use them? 15 DIY Pumpkins

Happy Labor Day fellow Americans! For many, this marks the end of summer and  everyone starts gearing up for fall. For us southerners, it means a few more weeks of hot weather and fall won't be a thought until late September or October (maybe.) Nonetheless, I can't help thinking of fall decor and what better symbol to last from fall to Halloween through Thanksgiving than the pumpkin. Here are 15 ways to decorate a pumpkin. Easy candle decor with washi tape

This is so easy that a tutorial would be insulting. When I was setting up my outdoor summer tablescape and back porch makeover, I whipped up some cute votive holders as part of the decor. I took two square glass candle holders from the Dollar Tree and added two strips of washi tape around them.  This tape came from Target. I will give a little advice here- these holders are rounded on the corners and I was having trouble keeping a straight line with a continuous strip, so I wrapped them with four strips, overlapping on the corners. Here's a couple of shots with them in place with my OFF! Silhouette vinyl table top candle.

Washi tape chevron card

I took my first try at a chevron design on a small scale. I know- I'm way behind and lots of you may be over chevron by now, but I just got interested. I only do projects or make things if I can use them. I needed to make a birthday card for someone recently so I decided I'd try a chevron pattern on the card. I used washi tape to make my pattern. (This particular tape came from Michael's.) I found a free chevron pattern printable on the internet and printed it off. I cut it out and lightly traced it with a pencil to get started. I ended up erasing most of the pencil after I got started because it was going to show through the washi tape, but it still helped me get the pattern going.  I stamped a sentiment and added some flowers. Overall I think it turned out cute. You can check out another washi tape card and gift bag here. Washi tape gift bag and card

I wasted no time in trying out my washi tape . I gussied up a plain gift bag with it and created a matching card for Mother's Day.  Here is a close up of the card:  I did a generic sentiment on the bag so my mother can reuse/regift it if she chooses: The sentiments were stamped and adhered to a label cut with my Nestabilities Labels four in my Sizzix big shot. I really need to get back to more paper crafting. This was a fun project. I bought four rolls of washi (paper) tape from Target and five rolls from Michael's this weekend. ( I used the 25% off coupon at Michael's). So what can I do with all this stuff?
