Challenge cards

I worked on some Christmas cards this weekend (I know I'm behind schedule compared to die hard stampers). I always turn to challenges and sketches for inspiration so I played along with a few challenges. Crazy4Challenges had a "wrap it up" challenge.  I made a gift card holder . Papers: K&Co.; Bazzill cardstock Image: MFT Accents: Ribbon, acrylic rhinestones Tools: Copics My next card uses the sketch from Sketch Saturday and a digital image. I also used K&Co. papers for this one. The third card I made uses the sketch at The Sweet Stop. Papers: Making Memories Accents: Ribbon Tools: Martha Stewart punch Thanks for stopping by.

Sharing a cookie

and a recipe. First, let me say Happy National Chocolate Chip Day ! Yep, it sure is. Today. Crazy4challenges is celebrating by issuing a challenge to have some image related to chocolate on your card. I played along and used this cute image from Mo's Digital Pencil . I designed another gift card holder using the sketch from Sketch Saturday . The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Papers are from Lime Ricky by Basic Grey and Bazzill cardstock. So, here's my favorite way to use chocolate chips. Cowboy Cookies (this includes directions for making the mix in a jar as a gift. Recipe from All Recipes .) Playing with sketches

I created some gift card holders .  For design inspiration, I turned to some of  my favorite sketch sites. The first card is created with this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop . I turned the sketch sideways. Image is from Heather Ellis- Pure Innocence and is colored with copic markers. Papers are from Cosmo Cricket. Next is a card/gift card holder   using the sketch from CPS . I put the sentiment tag on the opposite side. I thought it worked better on this card there. This image is one of the Darling Sisters by The Greeting Farm . Image is colored with Copics. Papers are by K&Co. Here's a little tip for making those corners. Punch a scalloped circle with a 1 1/4 inch scalloped circle punch. Cut in half and then in half again to make four corners. Thanks for stopping by. I may be linking these to the parties on the side.

Gamer boy

I've been making gift card holders again. My hubby and nephew love video games. This gift card holder would be great to hold a Gamestop gift card or other game store card. I can't resist linking up to a challenge once in a while. Stampin Sisters in Christ always has a great message with their challenge. This week the challenge is to use green. The Basic Grey Lime Ricky papers I've used fit this perfectly. I'll also be linking this up to some of the linky parties on the side. If you want to make your own gift card holder, you'll need a piece of cardstock 11 inches by 4.25. Score at 5.5 and fold. Glue the two long outer edges, but just the edges. You'll want the insert to fit. Cut a piece of cardstock 3 inches by 5 inches. The rest is up to you. Use whatever image or craft goodies you want to embellish your gift card holder. If you don't want to make one, you can always pick one up from time to time in my shop . From Feb. 21-25, I (along with other et...

Another gift card holder

I'm having fun making gift card holders . I used the sketch at Friday Sketchers for this one. The image is from MFT and is colored with copics. The papers are by Cosmo Cricket.  Crazy for Challenges is having a Christmas challenge so I'll be linking up there too. Thanks for looking.

Christmas gift card holder

I used the sketch over at Papertake Weekly as inspiration for the design on this gift card holder . Papers are by DCWV and stamps are by MFT. I colored with copics. Directions for making these card holders can be found HERE .   Thanks for looking. I have a couple of gift card holders listed in my shop .

Gift Card Holder and Gift in a Jar

The challenge this week at Our Creative Corner was to make a gift card holder. Perfect timing for this challenge for me since I am making cookie mix in a jar gifts for the neighbors and giving them a Publix gift card. They will get a sampling of the baked cookies too and some other goodies. I designed my gift card holder to be one of the tags that embellishes the jar. The card slides right into a pocket. The recipe is on the other tag. It's for cowboy cookies- chocolate chip and oatmeal..mmm...hubby's favorite. The recipe can be found here.
