Must Do Monday- 3 painted doily projects

Doilies have become quite a trend over the past couple of years. Here are three projects that caught my eye that I'd like to try. Painted doily canvas bag- Just Sew Sassy Painted doily tee- Maybe Matilda This last one doesn't use a doily, but if it works for the shirt, then I think it would work on a skirt too. Brassy Apple Stenciled Skirt Thanks for stopping by! What's on your "Must Do" list? Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm:51:10

T-shirt projects- Must do Monday

Old t-shirts or cheap Dollar Store shirts make easy, inexpensive projects. Here are three projects using t-shirts on my must do list! Shirt to skirt by I Am Momma- Hear me Roar Braided scarf by Making Lemonade T-shirt to vest by How Joyful Have a great Halloween. We're busy preparing for a Zombie Apocalypse at our house tonight! (Edited) Check these other great t-shirt projects: t-shirt bracelet t-shirt scarves t-shirt dress

Zombies shirt

I made myself a fun little shirt using my Silhouette SD and the heat transfer material. This is my first heat transfer project and I had a little trouble getting it to adhere. I had to go back with the iron a second time after I put the shirt on and attempted to wear it because the transfer was peeling up, so if you've got any tips for me, please share.

Tshirt bracelet

While making my tshirt scarf and necklaces , I was hit with the inspiration to make something else with the leftover part of the shirt. The sleeves and the top is leftover when you make the scarf or necklace.

Tried it out Thursday- Summer tshirt scarves

If you are looking for a quick and easy no sew scarf, these are the ones for you. I could not believe how quickly this came together. I love instant gratification!! I have  a stash of tshirts purchased at Michael's for $2.00 a piece on sale. I've had the shirts for several months and I can't believe I put this off. This was so much fun. I tried out two of the three tutorials from thediydish . I started with the rolled strips/loops scarf ( I just made up that name for it, ha!).  I used two shirts in contrasting colors.

Embellished tshirt

Aside from ruffles, my other new found interest is fabric flowers. I've been surfing blogs checking out all the tutorials for embellished "JCrew" or "Anthropologie" tshirt knock-offs. I found this tutorial here and then this one by Sachiko at Tea Rose Home and I knew this was one of those things I had to try. I got two shirts at Old Navy off the clearance rack ($3-$4!). I combined the two methods in that I made my shirt more like the first design but I made my flowers like Sachiko and sewed them together before I put them on my shirt instead of bunching and sewing as I went. I added one thing- I thought they were kind of plain when I first layed them out on the shirt, so I sewed on three small pearl beads to each flower center before sewing them on my shirt. Here is my take: Maybe the flowers are not as full as they could have been, but I'm happy with it. Sorry about the photos. The true color of the shirt is the last one. Someone decided ...

Wings are Haute Couture

Body art, aka tattoos, has made it's way into scrapbooking and fashion. Stamps by Technique Tuesday , and rub ons by Heidi Swapp feature one popular body art item, wings. Wings are not only popular in scrapbooking, but fashion too. And let me show you one fashion item that I think is "haute couture". It has a high "cool factor", and it's coming my way. This t-shirt by cloud9designstudio features angel wings screen printed on the back. My husband and I actually saw a girl with wings like this tattooed on her back, but this is as close as I'll get- I don't do needles and blood. Yeah, I'm squeamish. Anyway, check out cloud9designstudio at etsy. She has these hot items for mom and babe. And she's super nice and friendly. While I'm pointing out high fashion with a high cool factor, here's another must have on my list- this cool folded wings ring by ragtrader. Visit this shop too. There are some very cool things here.
