I'm not yet ready to reveal the table because we assembled it in place in the room and I've got to finish the rest of the room before taking photos.   I can share my new stool that I redid to go with the table. The table is counter height so I needed a bar stool for the times I want to sit and work.     I picked up one in good shape at a local thrift shop. Here's the before:   It was still in good shape as is, but I wanted something fun and bright to go with my table.  So I cleaned it, painted it with some left over paint from the table project, and then put a new seat on it. The paint was a flat interior. The Home Depot associate recommended that I go with flat paint since I

New Jersey Korean War Memorial 2010

I recently purchased a coral blazer and had tossed it across my cedar chest with other items that needed to be put away. It was lying across a mint shirt and white jacket and I loved the color combination. It inspired an outfit with the blazer, a white dress and mint necklace. However, there was one problem- I didn't own a white dress or mint necklace. A couple of weeks later, I was in Belk's and scored a cute white dress on clearance for $15.39! Of course it went home with me and Sunday I wore it with the blazer to church. I still don't have the mint accessories so I went with turquoise.   Dress- Belk; Blazer- Forever 21; shoes- TJMaxx   For evening services, I made the dress a little more casual and wore it with sandals and a vest belted over it. It's back to school time so what's more fitting than a round up of chalkboard projects. Now that I've finally given in and made my own (seen here), I'm hooked and definitely plan on doing more things with chalkboard paint and labels. I'm not a fan of some of DIY jewelry holders because I think it's just plain tacky to have a jewelry holder out as decor and I don't really have a place for some of the ideas I've seen.   Sweater- Gap; tank- Old Navy; skirt- Old Navy wedges- Ross Worn Aug. 4, 2013   Confession time- I bought this skirt last year and it has been hanging there with the tags on it since then. Until a couple of weeks ago when I wore it to church. Do you have anything new hanging in your closet unworn? Just to make me feel better, I'll say its only this piece and a jacket purchased from the thrift store that I intended to add some embellishment too.   I always had visions of creating a look like Kendi's with this skirt and sweater. I'm calling this a fail because I really don't like the fit of this sweater, especially now that I've lost weight. It's huge around the middle and makes me look bigger. Maybe I should put the sweater in the Goodwill bag and start over. I've really learned that proper fit makes a huge difference in how you look. The hubby and I are currently working on updating a couple of pieces of furniture with paint. You can probably guess from my round up here that one is an old dresser. I've learned that painting is a practice in patience. I'm ready to be done, and we're down to some touch ups and top coats but there are things that you can't control sometimes.   I'm still working on large projects for my new and improved craft room and I haven't put the new craft table to use yet, so here's a recipe from my archives that I haven't shared. It's very similar to the peach pie popsicles , but you can skip the freezing step. I actually stumbled on this at the beginning of the year when I was reading a recipe for another smoothie. That recipe called for coconut water and I didn't have it, so I decided to just add the spices to my usual recipe.
