Everything's coming up roses (or rosettes)

Okay, I'll admit that title is a little cheesy! Do you ever struggle with post titles? Anyway, I've been making rosettes for quite some time now, and I think rosette necklaces are the perfect accessory when you need to match or coordinate color with an outfit or add a pop of color to an outfit. A couple of weeks ago I needed something to tie an outfit together so I whipped us this necklace in about an hour.

Bright and shabby rosette headband

I took another try at the headbands. Again, this one is a gift my 12 year old neighbor. I can't see myself wearing this although this one has peaked my interest. I may have to make myself one. I've made this one from a really bright fabric that is not very stylish on its own now, but rolled into these flowers it looks great. I covered the band with a strip of fabric this time also instead of ribbon. I'll be linking up to Get Your Craft On and other parties listed on the side. Thanks for stopping by.

Rolled rosette brooch

I'm still heavily involved in the clean up and organization of my craft room so I haven't been able to make anything new lately. I'm sharing a quick little brooch I made for my mother as a Christmas gift. I just use the twist and roll method for my rosettes. This one is rather large so it took a fairly long strip of material. I added a vintage clip on earring as the center. I just removed the clip with pliers/ wire cutters before gluing it on. Thanks for looking! I'll be linking up to the parties on the side and at

Fabric rosette headband

I love the look of all the headbands everyone has been making but haven't tried one until today because I just didn't picture myself wearing one. I usually don't make something unless I would wear or use it myself. I made this one for a birthday gift for a girl in our Sunday School class. She has pretty long black hair and wears headbands a lot. She also has an appreciation for things that are different and for handmade, so I think she'll like it. I picked up a three-pack of thin headbands, grabbed a couple of fabric rosettes I had already made, added a button and some beads to them, wrapped ribbon around the headband, and glued the flowers on. There are tons of tutorials for the flowers and the headbands, so I won't go into anymore detail. It's easy to find a tutorial if you need one. Here's my finished project: After making this one and holding it up to myself for a test fit for placement, I might just have to make myself one. It's growing on me. I...

What's in the shop

I recently added new items to my etsy shop - handmade jewelry .  I love to make stuff but can't keep it all. Sometimes I make something for myself and then make a similar item with the leftovers. You've probably seen most of it on here already but you may not know that it's for sale. Maybe you wanted something you saw but didn't want to invest in the time or supplies to make it. Go ahead and splurge - get it for yourself. You'll be glad you purchased handmade. Here are the items for sale: Repurposed fabric rosette necklace Memory wire bracelet Fabric rosette bib necklace Braided ribbon necklace If you are buying a gift for someone else, pick up a handmade greeting card to go with it.
