I made some cards

I did get to make cards today on World Card Making Day. I actually started on Christmas cards! Here are the two cards that I completed: The first one is for a release challenge at StampTV to make a 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 card. I've never made this size but I like it. I'm thinking that it would make a cute place card for a dinner table with the right image and words. The sentiment and image are from GKD Simple Pleasures . I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The second one is the Christmas card. It's also for a StampTV release challenge to use two sets from one set. I used two different ones from A Very Merry Christmas . I stamped the one on the background and heat embossed it using Stampendous jeweled gold. I love how it sparkles. The picture does not do it justice. Sometimes embossing doesn't turn out so well for me, but this did beautifully on the Gina K cardstock , so I embossed enough for a set of six and also embossed the tree from this stamp ...

China inspired

Stamp: ODB Paper: K&Co. Tools: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Sizzix texture plate; Nestabilities; Martha Stewart punch Accents: Ribbon, pearls This card was made for the Our Daily Bread Day 2 Anniversary Challenge . This one is an inspiration challenge based on a china photo collage. I was inspired by the colors, the butterflies, and the white and patterns. I immediately thought of embossing. I don't know if you can see it well in the photo but all of the white is embossed, including the image panel. I used the sketch at Taylored Expressions for the layout. I was inspired by one of the DT cards as to the placement of the butterflies.

Here's my card: Paper : cardstock; patterned paper, HOTP Stamp: Inkadinkado; Studio G Accents : Flowers, Making Memories, other Tools : Cuttlebug argyle embossing folder; paper piercer; black marker; Nestabilities large petite ovals Thanks for looking!

A multi-challenge card

This card is one of those little surprises. You know, when you start out with a sketch or idea but you have no idea what the end result will be, because you just don't have the card pictured in your head. And then when you're finished, you're very surprised and pleased. I'm pleased with this. I started with the Dutch Dare Card Challenge to use no pink or red on a love themed card, so I chose black and blue. Well, really, black and white, and the blue somehow just worked its way in there. I used the sketch from CPS . It also fits the challenge for Stamp Something to make a valentine something and Caardvarks heart challenge, so I may just link it up there as well. I heat embossed those silver hearts. I used a heart background stamp that I've had for .. ahem, a few years and had not used yet. Oh.. one more neat detail. The scallops on the heart were made by punching hole punch size circles out of cardstock and gluing them to the edge of the heart. Paper : Cardstock St...

2sketches4you

I'm sliding in on the last day again with my 2sketches4you card. Here is this week's sketch Here's my take. I stamped the background with a swirls stamp and then embossed it in gold. I'm really loving gold for Christmas cards this year. The die cut frame is from the Basic Grey Wassail kit.
