Fabulous Friday Find- PicMonkey

Some of you will read this and think, "What rock has she been hiding under? PicMonkey is not new?" But for me is it. I usually add text and such to my photos in photoshop elements and I don't intend to stop, but I have limited time for learning things and have struggled with collages, so PicMonkey  is an exciting find for me. Or maybe I should say finding out how easy it is to use is a fabulous find ('cause I have heard of PicMonkey before, I just ignored it.) Last night I edited the collage from my Mother's Day round up post. I started with this:

Fabulous Friday find- the garbage bowl

Hi all. I am happy to report that as of Tuesday, both parents are home. My Daddy is improving and recovering well, but my mother is continuing to have problems and still has surgery ahead of her. Prayers are still welcome. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, see my post from Monday .) I just popped in to share an idea I found a few weeks ago - the garbage bowl . Yep, a garbage bowl . Not can, bowl . Hop over to the kitchn  to read more about this fabulous idea? I'm one of those people who makes countless trips to the trash can while cooking. It's really not that far of a trip, but this little tip has really saved me time since I started using it in my kitchen. I usually grab a plain boring plastic bowl, but wouldn't some of these be fun? *This post contains affiliate links.

Free social media icons (and other blog related finds)

Have you noticed my new look? I changed the header and added some social media buttons. For today's Fabulous Friday Finds , I wanted to give a shout out to Pink Moustache.  They have the icons I used as a free download. Need to know how to install social media icons? Check out Beautiful Dawn Designs tutorial. Want to add  "pin it" button to your posts? I followed this tutorial . You can also use this tutorial (the control+F tip is a lifesaver). Another neat bloggy find for this week is this tip on " How to see if your photos are being used on another site". Have a great weekend!

Fashion tip- Fabulous Friday find

It's been a while since I've shared a Fabulous Friday find . Not because they aren't out there, just because I've been too busy to do the extra post. Today I'm sharing this fabulous find from Brassy Apple. It's a much needed one this time of year because we are all back into jeans and sweaters or long shirts. Do your pants ever curl away from your button, creating an annoying "pooch" when you pull your shirt down over them? Mine do. And I hate it. I want a smooth silhouette, not a bumpy one. Megan has the perfect solution- masking tape. Yep- tape that sucker down! Go visit Megan at Brassy Apple for more details!

Miracle cleaner- How to clean your flat iron and more

Today's Fabulous Friday Find is a miracle cleaner, dubbed so by One Good Thing by Jillee. While this particular post is about cleaning your flat iron, she has used this paste of peroxide and baking soda to clean much more, including kitchen pans and appliances and the bathroom. Last week, I shared a find on how the same items will brighten your discolored toenails. Maybe peroxide and baking soda really is a miracle cleaner. I need to go stock up!

Whiten your toenails

( photo source )       Ever have stained or yellow toenails after wearing polish for a while or wearing dark polish? I'll admit that I do after constant wear of polish all spring and summer. This pin was a fabulous find. The article says to try whitening toothpaste but I followed the directions for the baking soda/ peroxide paste in the pin and it worked.  Go brighten those toes and have a fabulous weekend.

DIY Vehicle trash can

Source I found this on pinterest yesterday. I really need to to this. It's a plastic cereal container used as a trash can for the vehicle. "Fabulous" find! And just for thought- my mom had a 1978 Buick when I was growing up. It had its own trash can. Why don't vehicles have those anymore?

Fabulous Friday find- how to clean scuff marks from shoes

Source Happy Friday everyone! If you're a new follower, WELCOME! Most Fridays I share a "fabulous" idea or tip I've found. Today I'm sharing a link to some ways to clean scuff marks from shoes. Let me know if you've ever tried them or have any other tips that work.

Bathroom organization idea

Today's Fabulous Friday find is an idea for bathroom storage. It may not seem like a big deal, but sometimes I get stuck in a rut of thinking of things as only for their normal uses. Like a lazy susan- it's made for the kitchen right? Kitchen things belong in the kitchen.   source bhg.com Well how about the BATHROOM? This is perfect for my messy under the sink cabinet. I'll be able to see and find everything without digging in the back. Fabulous! Have a great weekend! Check out more bathroom organization HERE.

100 Calorie Snack ideas

I'm always looking for healthy or low calorie recipes and snack ideas. I often get frustrated reading diet and nutrition articles because they give you the same information and ideas over and over. If you've read one or two, you've read them all. I was pleasantly surprised to find this article at WebMD this week. They share some ideas I haven't seen or thought of before for snacks. Here are a few  I liked: Mini quesadilla Baked apple Skim ricotta in a pita pocket Check them all out HERE.

Fabulous Friday Find- Another use for Magic Eraser

This week Aimee from It's Overflowing shared how to clean an iron with Magic Eraser. I love those things. I wish I'd known this a long time ago. Did you know you can also use them to clean your glass stovetop? Sure can- no scratches! I can't remember where I first found that tip, but you can verify it all over the web. Have a great weekend! Fabulous Friday find- baby oil

source Now I know baby oil is nothing new but this use for it is new to me. This Fabulous Friday find comes from Krafty Kat, who shared how baby oil will remove adhesive. Check out her post to learn how she made this discovery. Ever since she shared this tip, I have made this my go-to adhesive remover for removing jar labels and price stickers and such from my hard surface items. Tip Nut shares 30 ways to remove adhesive here .

Coasters from terra cotta pot saucers

This week's Fabulous Friday find is a neat idea that I stumbled upon recently. It is a great idea for outdoor summer entertaining- use pot saucers to make coasters. The North End Loft shows you how. Here's another version at Joy is At Home : Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Fabulous Friday find- using cupcake liners

Today Fabulous Friday find jumped out at me not only for it's cuteness, but it's functionality as well. Take a look- Nest of Posies set a cute holiday table and used mason jars for drinks with cupcake liners for jar toppers. The really cool thing- this will keep the BUGS OUT of the drinks. I love it- I hate bugs and they turn me off from outdoor functions, but this is genius! The Diary of Dave's Wife used fabric circles on mason jars. This would serve the same purpose- cuteness and functionality. Thanks for stopping by. So grateful for all my new followers and I look forward to getting to know you better and sharing ideas with you. Have a great weekend!

Perfect cupcakes- Fabulous Friday Find

This week's Fabulous Friday find is "The Perfect Cupcake Recipe" from a mix. I found this over at Tidy Mom.  Really, everything at Tidy Mom is fabulous so you should go check her out. I made cupcakes last weekend using this recipe and it is exactly what it says- you really get a thick creamy batter this way. My cupcakes got rave reviews from church, co-workers and the hubby.  And the tip about using the ice cream scoop to fill the cups works too! Have a great weekend and thanks for following me!

Photoshop elements tips- Fabulous Friday Finds

I've been concentrating on improving my photography and editing skills over the past few months. These two links I'm sharing today may be old news to many of you, but they were "fabulous" finds for me. I've seen rule of third overlays and actions before, but did not know I could easily view a rule of thirds grid in my own version of photoshop elements ( I have v6) without having to add anything until I stumbled across this tutorial at Everyday Elements . (There is a link to an explanation on rule of thirds there too.) I also learned how to create a watermark brush for my photos HERE at Everyday Elements. Hope these are helpful to you! Have a great weekend.

DIY no slip clothes hanger

Happy Friday! Hope you all have a fabulous three day weekend.  I think most of us will be outdoors, but if you spend it inside doing some organizing, here is a neat tip for you that I found at  In My Own Style . No slip hangers! Take your regular hangers - wire or plastic and wrap them with pipe cleaners from the craft store! Genius! You know you have those pesky dresses or tops that slide off all the time. This will fix the problem.  Click on the link above to read the whole post and how-to.
