Christmas frap bottles

I have been saving some Starbucks Frappicino bottles for quite some time. I finally used them to make some stocking stuffers. I took some cardstock strips and made a Santa bottle. It's filled with red Hershey's kisses.   Then I took more Hershey's kisses and labeled them with free printable labels from Amanda's Parties to Go.  I filled more bottles and then topped the bottles with ribbon and flowers from my scrapbook stash. I love how they turned out.

Ribbon spool into gift box or album - Fabulous Friday Finds

I am in love with this idea that I found over at In My Own Style  - turning ribbon spools into gift boxes. What a genius way to repurpose, reuse and save! You must go check it out. Here's another way to use those empty ribbon spools - make a cute photo album . Thougthts of a Card Making Scrapbooker shows you how. Both of these ideas would be great for Mother's Day. Have a great weekend!

Altered mini jar candles

I picked up these mini jar candles at Wal-mart's after Christmas clearance for 25 or 50 cents each. I had Valentine's Day gifts in mind for these. I took out some paper scraps, punches, rhinestones, Prima flowers and ribbon and had a blast decorating these. I think I'll be on the lookout for more to decorate for spring and Easter. I started with this and ended up with this I made five total. Here they are: These were a lot of fun to make. I'll be linking up to All Things Inspired Blue Cricket Design Show and Tell Whatever goes Wednesday and others. Check out the list on the side.

F-A-L-L decoration

I was searching through my old project photos and found this cute little decor that I made a few years ago for a swap. The photo is not great because I was not blogging then and didn't have a good camera. I thought I'd share it anyway. I got the wood base, pegs, and letters at Wal-mart. The scarecrow was probably a Dollar Store item. I painted the letters and pegs and base. I should have painted the scarecrow's peg but I see now I didn't. I layed each letter down on scrapbook paper and traced them. I cut out the paper and decoupaged (Mod Podge) the paper to the letters. I decorated with some leaves, berries, ribbon and stickers. This is another fairly quick and easy project. Thanks for looking. I'll be linking up to the parties on the side.

It finally came together

Yesterday I posted this bookmark . Months ago Yikes, over a year ago,  I posted this altered notebook .  All of these little goodies have been put into this paper tote gift bag that was crafted from BasicGrey Sugared designer paper. These are fun little gifts, just wish it didn't take me so long to get it all together. This set includes a set of four handmade greeting cards, a bookmark, a post it note holder, a mini notebook, and a beaded keychain. This has been listed over at SouthernScraps on etsy. For the Lord

Okay, I admit it is a bit late and I'm doing this at the last minute and that's not really any way to do anything for the Lord, but this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge was a free theme, so long as you created as if you were doing it for the Lord. Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." A free theme didn't really motivate me because I didn't know what I wanted to do. I need structure. This afternoon hubby asked me to print this verse for our Sunday School class in a nice font to put on the bulletin board. We teach our college and career age class (18-30) and one of them suggested this as a class verse. We have also talked about decorating our classroom as it is a little bland - old brown paneling. That's when it hit me- I could do a scrapbook style layout with the verse and frame it. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for a layou...

A bucket full of love

Verve's project parade theme this month is Tags, Tins & Treats. You must go to their blog and see all the awesome projects by the DT members. For my project I've used a red tin bucket I bought a couple of years ago on after Christmas clearance. I've filled it with paper flowers and Hershey's miniatures wrapped in custom wrappers that I have stamped with some Studio G clear stamps. I embellished the bucket with a tag and ribbon. This has been sent out to some family members. I hope they receive it in one piece. The Pink Elephant is calling for Valentine's projects and Simon Says is looking for "love". My bucket is certainly full of "love".

Back to School

The Simon Says Challenge this week is to make a back to school project. I really don't have any school themed stamps so I made this altered mini notebook. Every student needs to take notes. You have probably seen me share a tote and card in the past that coordinates with this. Slowly but surely, I'm putting together a whole coordinating gift set.

Man's Best Friend

I'm back to share my project for the Verve project parade. When I was home for Mother's Day, I took some pictures of my Daddy's "Angel". He seemed to be interested in how they turned out, so I decided that I would frame one for him for Father's Day. I shopped for a dog frame and couldn't find one I liked. Then Verve posted the new project parade theme- It's a guy thing, and I knew what I had to do- make my own. What is more of a guy thing than "Man's best friend." I purchased an unfinished wood scrapbook frame from Michael's. Here is the result of my efforts. I didn't use a Verve stamp because I don't have any guy themed ones, but I thought this Simple Thoughts- Dog from a Cloud 9 Design set was perfect for my project and some future pet pages and frames I plan to do. Easter purse

What girl doesn't love a new Easter outfit, and even better, a new purse to match?! For the Verve Project parade , the requirement is to create "an egg-stra special" spring project or card. I created this cute little purse, which can be a card or treat holder. It would be easy to slip in a cello bag to hold a treat. Check out the project parade it you haven't. I just love looking at all the awesome projects the design team creates. Friday Feature

Yes, I know, this is going up very late. It's been a long, busy week at my job and I did not have time to find a feature. But while browsing my email, which contained one from mycraftivity.com , I found the most amazing etsy artist. Check out the work of Glory2727. WOW!! That's all I can say. WOW!! The first piece is a colored pencil piece! I have a lot to learn about using my colored pencils. Maybe by the time I reach 76, I can be half this good. Yes, 76, this artist is 76 years old! Kudos to her for staying creative!

Altered Paint Can

I love to "alter" things with my papers and scrap supplies. This week I have been working on an altered paint can that will be filled with goodies for a baby shower gift. Here's a quick tutorial for doing this with scrapbook paper. Supplies: Gallon paint can (clean and empty) 2 sheets coordinating 12x12 patterned scrapbook paper. Adhesive (Decoupage medium or a xyron ) Ribbon, stickers, embellishments 1 inch circle punch 1. Cut your paper 10.5 in in length and whatever width you desire. My top piece is 4 in. and the bottom is 3.75. Cutting them the same length will allow your seams to match on each side. This length allows for a slight overlap but you can still line up the seams. 2. In order to cut around the handles on each side, use a circle punch and cut out half of a circle. Measure down from the top of the can to find the appropriate place. 3. Apply decoupage medium or run pieces of paper through xyron. Adhere to can. Also cut a circle for the top and adhere. I used ...

It's Friday!

Today's feature is this awesome bracelet by ButtonEnvy at etsy. It's made with eight Scrabble tiles! How cool is that? And how it that for repurposing and altering? She has 21 of these currently listed in all sorts of designs, inlcuding birds, flowers, and vintage designs. I happen to like butterflies so this one got my attention. You'll also find other "repurposed" jewelery so head on over and check out her shop! Today's quote: The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. ~Rabindranath Tagore
