A look back

Once you've blogged for a few years and have over 1,000 posts, it's easy for things to get lost and can be a little difficult for new readers to find things. 'd really like to get things organized by topic under tabs at the top. For now, I thought I'd start highlighting some of my older posts and projects in an end of the month round up. So here goes " a look back" at August posts in years past.   Braided wrap bracelet     Ruffle tank     Beaded wrap bracelet     Ann Taylor Loft inspired cuff     Singed chiffon flowers         Bib necklace       No stamping BOO card   Looks like I was really into jewelry for while, especially bracelets. Hope you've enjoyed our little trip back in time. Sharing at some of these places: Think Pink Sundays * Under the Table and Dreaming * Sundae Scoop * Creative Bloggers Party and Hop * Craftoma...

Button charm bracelet

A while back I posted some button jewelry projects  that I wanted to do. I have had some vintage buttons from my grandmother's stash picked out for quite some time, and I finally got around to making a button charm bracelet. I started with an 8 inch chain bracelet from Michael's, my vintage buttons, a couple of heart buttons and vintage looking buttons purchased from Michael's clearance, and some 9mm jump rings. You can also use any chain cut to length and clasps of your choice if you don't have a premade bracelet.

Tried it out Thursday- Fiber wrapped bangle

I've got a cute new fall accessory. I started with a plain wooden bangle from the thrift store ($1).

Tried it out Thursday- braided wrap bracelet

I made another wrap bracelet! This one is similar to this one at Henry Happened .  Instead of two pieces of cord, I used three and the chain. I just held the chain with one of my pieces of cord as if it were one strand and braided.

Tried it out Thursday- wrapped cord bracelet

I tried my skills at making a beaded wrap bracelet. I wanted to use what was on hand, so I used some parachute cord that hubby had left over with 8mm beads instead of leather cord to make a wrapped bracelet similar to the one at Inspiration and Realisation .  I had to read several tutorials to get the hang of it. This tutorial seemed to click for me. Later I found this one and it seems like a good one to follow. Thanks for stopping by. Tshirt bracelet

While making my tshirt scarf and necklaces , I was hit with the inspiration to make something else with the leftover part of the shirt. The sleeves and the top is leftover when you make the scarf or necklace.

Bubble gum bracelet

I'm more into accessorizing my outfits these days than I have been in the past, so I made myself a bracelet to go with my Easter outfit . I have a couple of containers of beads out on the floor of my craft room/office and I kept seeing these colorful beads. They kept just screaming at me to be made into something to go with my Easter outfit since they matched so well. And no, it's not made of bubble gum, but these ceramic beads remind me of bubble gum. This was a really quick project. Simply attach beading string to one half of a toggle clasp with a crimp, string on beads and spacers, and attach the end to the other half of the toggle clasp with a crimp. I used white glass beads, ceramic colored beads, silver spacers, and some plastic berry beads that have been in my stash since my days of ornament making (10 years ago!). All of the beads came from Michael's and the spacers came from Joann's. Thanks for stopping by, and a quick shout out to my new followers. I...

Ann Taylor Loft inspired bow cuff bracelet

Last week I was browsing around Ann Taylor loft for jewelry and fashion inspiration. I saw this cuff bracelet . In case no one has noticed, I'm into big chunky jewelry right now. It's not a bad price, but I still thought that I could make one for less and that it would be fun to do also. So I did. Here's my version: Mine does not have rhinestones. And to tell you the truth, I didn't notice the rhinestones in the Ann Taylor loft version to begin with. I'm not a good tutorial writer, but I did take a few pictures of the steps and will try to explain. I ordered a 2-inch aluminum cuff blank from here. I got a 99-cent fake leather belt from the Good Will. (I'd say this is a fabulous upcycle for this belt.) You'll also need some black felt. It was already in my stash, along with Beadalon medium curb silver plated chain. I cut off a portion of the belt and glued it to the cuff blank with Fabri-Tac adhesive. Cut it a little wider and fold the edges to the i...
