Quick DIY pendant necklace

Hey! Hope you all have had a great week. It's been a busy hectic one here, but I did manage to put together this pendant necklace.  It's a quick and easy project. All you need to complete this are: 24 inch chain jump rings clasp pendant All of my supplies came from Michael's and as you an see, the pendant was on clearance at $1.99. You also need a pair of jewelry wire cutters and a pair of jewelry pliers. I removed one oval link from my chain so that I had two pieces. I attached the pendant to the two pieces of chain with jump rings and then attached the clasp pieces at the opposite ends. Done! I told you it was quick and easy. I promptly wore my new necklace the next day.   Sharing here:   Under the Table and Dreaming * Sundae Scoop * * DIY Sunday Showcase * The DIY’ers * Masterpiece Monday * Motivate Me Monday *   Mop It Up Monday * Monday Funday * Give me the Goods * The Scoop * Project Inspired * Show and Tell * Han...

5 Minute Bling Bracelets

I was in Michael's recently and came across these rhinestone connectors. Jewelry, especially bracelets with words and symbols are so popular right now, so I decided to snatch them up and make my own bracelets. I have these chain bracelets in my stash that I got at a yard sale a few years ago. Yes, I know, I should have done something with them by now, but that's why it's called a STASH.  I chose three of them to work with. All I did was cut away some of the chain from the middle and replace with jump rings and the connectors. Done. Even if you have to cut chain and add clasps, you can still make all three in 10-15 minutes.  If you are just beginning with jewelry, here's the break down of supplies: Wire cutters pliers charms/connectors about 20 inches of chain (depending on the length you want them, 20 inches should do all three) 6mm or 8mm jump rings clasps Thanks for stopping by! Ten minute earrings

Calling these ten minute earrings is being really gracious. A skilled jewerly maker could make these in under five. This is another great bead stash busting project that will use those up those random leftover beads, so it's got another thing going for it.   I made these as a Christmas gift. If you get in a pinch for a Valentine's gift, they would be great for that too. If you want them to be more in theme with Valentine's switch out the dragonfly charms with heart charms.   You will need:   a set of earring wires/hooks two sterling silver charms two beads of your choice two eye pins two jump rings (optional) jewelry pliers   Thread your beads on the eye pins and make a single loop at the top of each one. Attach the charms to the bead unit with a jump ring or attach directly to the loop of the eye pin. Attach earring wires to the top of the bead with the loop you just made. DONE!   Sharing here: Think ...

Metal stamped initial necklaces

Metal stamping has been on my list of things to try out for a long time. I have owned a set of metal stamps purchased from Harbor Freight for over a year now but just finally got around to using them a couple of months ago. I made necklaces for Christmas gifts for my mother and in-laws. These were a lot of fun and come together fairly quickly so they would aslo be great gifts for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or anytime you need to whip a a gift for a special girl friend. My stamp set is 1/8 inch and I used 9mm sterling silver discs. I also used sterling silver chain for these since they were gifts. I purchased my supplies in bulk from  Silver City Beads on etsy so I have around $10 invested in each necklace. They can be made for less if you forgo the sterling. Other supplies included beads, charms, 4mm and 6mm jump rings. This is a great stash busting project if you are already into jewelry making or beading. Adding a bead to your nec...

Thrift store necklace makeover

I picked up this necklace at one of our local thrift stores for $4.50 and I wasn't crazy about the worn leather strap or the large white pendant, but loved the colors of the beads because it they were just what I was looking for to go with a new outfit. I wanted a shorter necklace and the large pendant was just too much. So... what to do? I took out my jewelry pliers, some chain, jump rings, and found a smaller bead in a complimentary color in my stash. I threaded the bead on a  head pin to create a new pendant and attached it with a jump ring. I attached the chain to each side with jump rings and had a new necklace! Thanks for stopping by. Lace it up- 7 ways -Must Do Monday

Before I get into Must Do Monday, let me say "Thank You" to our veterans and active military. You sacrifice so much for everyone else. I hope all of you have some time to reflect today, even if this isn't an official holiday for you. This week is all about projects that you can do with lace. I'm not head over heels in love with lace, but it does add a nice touch here and there, and I think some of these projects would be worth trying out.   Lace earrings Lace candleholders     Lace cutoffs       Lace jean cuffs     Lace embellished tshirt     Lace infinity scarf   Lace bracelet     What's your opinion on lace?
