I don't know where time goes anymore. I don't even have my summer flip flop wreath hung on the front door. It needs a repair. After a few years in the southern heat and humidity, I need to glue a flip flop back on. Or maybe I could make a new summer wreath.... when I find the time. It's been a bit warm here this weekend so we've been craving cool treats. Here's a round up of seven cool treats to try this summer. After all the hard work on my front porch makeover , I decided I needed a cool treat. I have lots of hot chocolate left over from the winter, so I searched out a way to use up those packets. I found this recipe for frozen hot chocolate and gave it a try. I totally recommend it. 3 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar 1 package Hot Cocoa Mix (about 3 Tablespoons) 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter ⅓ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips ⅓ cups White Chocolate Chips 12 ounces, fluid Can Evaporated Milk, Divided 4-½ cups Ice Whipped Cream, To Taste Mini Marshmallows, To Taste Combine sugar, cocoa mix, and butter in the top of a double boiler that is set over gently boiling water. Stir often until melted and a smooth paste forms. Add semi-sweet & white chocolate chips; stir. When chips begin to melt, slowly stir in 1/2 cup of evaporated milk. Stir until smooth. I'm so excited to share that I finally made over my front porch, or really I should say I decorated it for the first time. I've been in this house almost six years, and never really decorated the front porch. It gets some attention at Halloween and Christmas , but other than that it's been pretty bare. Here's a little peak: (Stick with me, lots of pictures, but totally worth it.)

When I redecorated my mantel for summer with a beach theme, I also changed up the dining room centerpiece and entryway vignette. I didn't buy anything extra for this other than bamboo mats from the Dollar Tree. I used what I had and what was left from the mantel supplies.  I had planned to share sooner, but I'm just now getting around to posting this. Here's the dining room centerpiece:

Do you see him? I made a new wreath for the front door. I went out and took the old one off and put up the new one, only to find myself face to face with a small frog. EEEEEWWW! I thought he would jump off while I went to get my camera, but he didn't. He just hid behind the wreath, so I took pictures with him on the door and then took one of him just for laughs. I saw a wreath at Michael's that used metal flip flops and was way out of my price range, but it inspired me to do something with real flip flops. I've also been seeing these rag wreaths or fabric strip wreaths and thought I'd combine the two ideas. I purchased some childrens size 12 flip flops from the Dollar Tree. I've decorated them with some fabric flowers I've made while trying out all the new (or new to me) tutorials for flowers on the internet. I used fabric from my stash, much of it vintage. I just tied on the strips, made flowers, hot glued them to the flip flops, and then hot glued...
