Thrifty St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

I have never set a St. Patrick's Day tablescape before, but I managed to pull one together for this year on a low budget. I had many items on hand and managed to find some cute things at the thrift store and Dollar Tree, along with 50% off Michael's items. The fun green glasses were a thrift store find at 79 cents each. I already had the jute napkin rings and found some green napkins for less than a dollar a piece at another thrift store. I picked up some stems for 50% off at Michael's to add to the arrangements. I already had the burlap wrapped jars and some faux flowers on hand.   If you've been following my St. Patrick's Day posts , you know I picked up $7 worth of items at the Dollar Tree to make a wreath and had leftovers. The remainder of the hats made cute little place setting decorations. The wood slice was already on the table as part of the winter tablescape , so I left it out as I imagine leprechauns as woodsy type fellow...

Updated winter centerpiece

The Christmas decorations had to be put away but I wasn't ready to start completely over with a tablescape. It is still winter- today's low is 25. That's one of those rare low days for us.  So... I removed the "Christmas elements" and replaced them with some winter elements and left everything else in place.   I removed the colorful ornaments from the vase and bowls and went from this:   TO THIS:   A simple replacement with clear ornaments and mini frosted pinecones. The pinecones were a Big Lots find a couple of years ago. I replaced the cloche with a wood slice and some candles. I'm still enjoying the penquins and snowflakes. Thanks for stopping by. Fall Tablescape

I'm way ahead of the curve for fall this year. I don't normally due any "fall" decorating until Thanksgiving. We just go from summer to Halloween. This year is different. After putting together my mason jar centerpiece , I just had to go ahead and complete a fall tablescape. The current tablescape had been there since February so it was time for a change. The leaf placemats and champagne colored napkins, along with the wood napkin rings were all purchased at one of our local thrift stores.  White plates, bowls, BHG leaf salad plates and a faux pumpkin in each bowl make up the place settings. A couple of more votives and some cute squirrel ornaments that I found at Tuesday Morning add to the centerpiece. I even stuck one of the squirrels in the tray with the jars. Hope you've enjoyed viewing my fall tablescape. I rounded up even more ideas HERE . Linking up with Tablescape Thursday and these great parties: Think Pink Sundays * Un...

Casual Easter Tablescape

When I saw these fun chevron striped and polka dot plates in the Target Dollar Spot, I knew immediately I wanted to set up a fun tablescape with them. With Easter coming up, what better time to use them. I've set the back porch table in a fun casual Easter theme that would be perfect for an Easter brunch. You may have seen many of these items before- the napkins, egg candles and polka dot painted eggs I used as place holders. While I was getting the plates, I snatched up the fun paper straws from the dollar spot too. I got a pack of each color. I love to mix and match, and here I'm using the pink and green ones in some mason jars.   I used my simple spring arrangement as the centerpiece and a couple of bunny figurines to give it an Easter feel. Take the eggs and bunnies away and you've still got a fun Spring party setting.   Hope you have a fun and blessed Easter. Linking up with Tablescape Thursday and these fun parties: Think ...
