I finally tried out my Silhouette SD. I won one back in May. I am ashamed to say I left it in the box until one day last week. I was afraid it would take a long time to set up and I thought I just didn't have the time. I also had to make room for it. I finally decided to move some things off  my desk and move my printer, so the Silhouette has a home. None of the moving or set up took as long as I thought it would. My first official project was to make a Frankenstein hand sanitizer for my hubby for his birthday.

I like to chatter about the details of an outfit so much that a week long review of everything in one post gets to be a bit too much. A couple more of the fall 2011 trends I've been able to thrift: Faux fur Source - Piperlime I didn't find a vest, but I did find this leather jacket with faux fur collar at the Goodwill for $6.49! Another cute fall trend is the bow blouse.  It's a very vintage look and something you may not like unless you work in an office. I work in an office, so I love it! I've tried my hand at punched paper specimen art before. There are some great Halloween pieces out there that are motivating me to try this for Halloween too. Tatertots and Jello My Blessed Life I have not tried subway art yet, but there are some great examples of that out there for Halloween as well. I missed posting WIWW for a couple of weeks because I've been on work related travel and the hotel rooms and my schedule did not allow for pics or posting. I'm back this week with a couple of casual outfits and a work outfit. Saturday evening out

I've been reading up on fall's fashion trends for this year in all the magazines and blogs and I've been adding them to my wardrobe with thrift store and consignment purchases. If only it would get cool enought to wear my finds. It's been so easy to find all of the trends for $1.00- $7.00. I'll be sharing my finds in a three or more part series. Here's part one:

Maybe this year I will get to try some. A couple of weeks ago I posted some headbands I wanted to try. I tried my own version of Little Miss Momma's button headband .

Okay, I'll admit that title is a little cheesy! Do you ever struggle with post titles? Anyway, I've been making rosettes for quite some time now, and I think rosette necklaces are the perfect accessory when you need to match or coordinate color with an outfit or add a pop of color to an outfit. A couple of weeks ago I needed something to tie an outfit together so I whipped us this necklace in about an hour.

I used some handmade flowers as package bows on a wedding gift recently. I followed THIS tutorial, but cut the center stems very short. I also used brads in the center of some so they would lay flatter. I used the paper that stores wrap your breakables in. Not sure what to call it- it's heavier than tissue paper but still pretty soft. I had saved some from previous shopping trips. These were quick and easy but turned out very elegant.
