Handmade Father's Day card

I needed to get a card made for my Daddy and I was about to run out of time. I pulled a Phindy's Place image from my stash that I had already colored this morning and turned to some challenges for some inspiration. I used the sketch over at CPS and some jute twine for the Crazy4Challenges call for twine, floss, or string. I thought this was a nice masculine touch. I also played Simon Says bingo . I used the bottom row - shape (Nesties label), ribbon and sentiment. I colored my image with the following Copics: C4, N9, G29,E39, E35, E07, B24, B18, C10,C6,G85,YG67, Y17, E17.  Papers are from K&Co. I used sentiment stamps from Stampendous and Stamping Bella. Do you stampers ever combine images or sentiments from different companies on a project or stick to the same line for each company? Thanks for stopping by!

On Your Special Day

Mother's Day is a day set aside to show mother's they are special and to honor them. If you happen to be curious about it's history, there some information HERE along with poems and craft ideas. Here's the card I made for my mother-in-law this year. This is just one big stamped image colored with Copics. The image is a GinaK Designs stamp by Melanie Muenchinger . I used the following Copic colors: R22, R24, R29, G29, YG67, YG13, Y17, G05, G14, RV19, RV34, R83, BG11. Aren't you impressed that I actually wrote them down for you. I love Copics for blending and shading. I colored the trim around the sentiment with a metallic silver Prismacolor pencil. I even added a little something to the inside of this card. These are colored with Marvy Markers. They were already on hand in my basket of stamped and colored images. I cut them out and layered them inside. This is the perfect image to use for my mother-in-law. She loves gardening and grows the most beau...

Hugs and kisses

What else could a mother want for Mother's Day besides hugs and kisses? Here's the card I made for my mother. I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop and combined some challenges for Just Magnolia (to use buttons, bows, and bling) and Crazy4Challenges to use 3 different papers, 2 flowers, and 1 button). I used a Tilda with flowers image from Magnolia Stamps . I colored her with Copics. Papers are from K&Co. Other items: Flowers : Prima Sentiment: MFT heart bling : K&Co. Martha Stewart lace doily punch, Nestabilities, Bazzill cardstock, ribbon

Playing with sketches

I created some gift card holders .  For design inspiration, I turned to some of  my favorite sketch sites. The first card is created with this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop . I turned the sketch sideways. Image is from Heather Ellis- Pure Innocence and is colored with copic markers. Papers are from Cosmo Cricket. Next is a card/gift card holder   using the sketch from CPS . I put the sentiment tag on the opposite side. I thought it worked better on this card there. This image is one of the Darling Sisters by The Greeting Farm . Image is colored with Copics. Papers are by K&Co. Here's a little tip for making those corners. Punch a scalloped circle with a 1 1/4 inch scalloped circle punch. Cut in half and then in half again to make four corners. Thanks for stopping by. I may be linking these to the parties on the side.

Santa Baby...

I'm popping in with a card I made for a couple of challenges. I am not playing with the challenges nearly as much as I used to be but I am working on my Christmas cards and I'm incorporating a challenge here and there when I can. Charisma Cardz and Critter Sketch both issued challenges for Christmas cards. I made this  Christmas card  using MFT stamps ( Santa Baby) and Basic Grey papers. It's a fun little card for your special guy- the inside reads "All I Want for Christmas is you." Papers: BasicGrey Eskimo kisses Stamps: MFT Tools: Nestibilities label, Copics Accents: ribbon, flower, button

Happy Wednesday!

We are almost over the hump and by tomorrow the weekend will be even closer. I hope everyone is having a great week. Tonight's card is probably my last Easter card. A couple of challenge blogs are still having Easter challenges- Stampin' for the Weekend and Dare U to Digi Stamp . My card features a cute puppy with egg digi from Karen's Doodles. I've colored him with copics. I made the card based on the Inspirational Card Sketches sketch and I punched the squares out of some scraps for the Digital Tuesday "Scrap It' Challenge . I did some doodling with black marker for the Stamp Something Challenge . I've got pastels for TPE and last but not least, this fits Pile it On - Animals. Papertake Weekly has an open theme so I added some bling and pearls. Whew. That was a lot. Thanks for stickin' through to the end.

Another easel card

Whiff of Joy and ATS challenged their readers to easel cards this week. Since ATS carried this WOJ stamp I used I'm submitting one for both. I've also used the Copic Colour Challenge colors to color my image with and used my favorited copic techniques- skin and brunette hair (I'm still learning the hair and I improvise because I don't have some of the colors the tutorials call for) for the Copic Creations challenge . I also threw in some distressing for the Stamp Something challenge and used the sketch from Friday Sketchers for my card front. Girly in Coffee and Cream

I am loving this color challenge issued by Whiff of Joy . It is so vintage looking. I also thought this was the perfect image for these colors. I've combined this with Simon Says Girly/feminine challenge and Stamp Somethings Girly challenge . I also used the lace, pearls, and pin for the challenge at Creative Inspirations (although I may be a wee bit late due to time zone differences). I used Mercy's sketch . Papers are by K&Co. and the image was colored with Copics.

Fun in the Sun

Here is cute little Sun Fun Maggie from Digital Delights . I've used her for their kids themed challenge , along with a scalloped circle for Digital Tuesday . Sorry for the short post, it's bedtime.

Here is a card that I made for a few challenges. Verve is having a spring fling with challenges and I made this one for the first challenge "clean and simple with flowers". I've used flowers from Wishful Elegance by Verve. I colored them with copics and cut them out. I don't know if you can see but I embossed the top of the card with swiss dots cuttlebug folder. I also made this card for the Embellish Magazine borders color challenge. And I'm submitting it for Moxie Fab's Olympics of Stamping Challenge (Birthday). The layout was based on CPS 157.
