Happy Friday! This week's featured shop is Posies and Petals , with a specialty of felt hair accessories that are darling for babies, children, or even moms. Embellishing a stocking

Day 3 What mantel is complete without stockings? Need an easy idea to get some fabulous stockings fast? Embellish a ready made stocking! For my mantel I started with some plain white plush stockings from the Dollar Tree. I didn't have any to match my new color scheme for this year, and I didn't want to spend a lot. They had a cute tassel but that was it. So, I dressed them up a bit.

WIWW - Flower pin

Hello! Before you peak at my outfit, I hope you'll go over HERE and enter the Shabby Apple necklace giveaway. There's a coupon code in that post too so you can save on a beautiful new dress for the holidays. You could win the necklace to accessorize your attire. One more thing, I'll be having a Black Friday Sale in my shop . Make sure you check it out. Sale starts 6:00 P.M. Thursday. Now, here's an outfit I wore to church Sunday night of last week. I rarely wear flats like these and I've had a hard time finding a pair that actually fit me, but I got these with a cute bow detail at Payless last month. I made a felt flower and wore it on my belt. These flowers are so much fun. Pants, tank- Old Navy; Cardigan- TJMaxx shoes- Payless belt- Target; flower pin- made by me bracelet- made by me Thanks for stopping by. Linking up to WIWW.

Felt flowers- Tried it Out Thursday

I had some fun this week playing around with felt flowers. Most of these flowers I have made before, but not with felt. I tried two variations of the pom pom. I made this one with the usual method of folding circles in quarters and gluing them around a circle. This one I made by scrunching my circles, as shown here.

Fall yarn wreath- Tried It Out Thursday

I've been bitten by the bug and had to make a yarn wreath like everyone else. This was very easy to do. I used a foam wreath form for mine and yarn that I got from the thrift store. I managed to get almost a full skein and a huge bag of odds and ends for $3.00. I have enough to make another wreath in another color.  Tutorials for the wreaths and flowers can be found in the links in this post.   I chose fall colors but since I have a fall wreath that I made last year and my storage space is running out, I'll be shipping this one to my mom. The colors are a little off since I had to photograph this at night. The small flower to the bottom is more yellow/golden that it appears here. Thanks for stopping by, and a special thanks to my recent new followers! Must Do Monday- Yarn wreath

The craze over yarn wreaths with felt flowers has caught on with me and I've decided I must make one. Here are a few that inspire me: Home Stories A to Z A Pretty Life in the Suburbs Ali Lilly Great tutorial for the flowers here: Paddington Way This one's a little different, but still uses yarn Nature's Heirloom And hey, it takes yarn to make sweaters, so this one fits too.   Oopsey Daisy Have a great week! And to all my newest followers, welcome and thanks. I hope you continue to find inspiration here.
