Mojo on Friday

I completed this card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge last night, but I'm just getting a chance to post it. I love butterflies. I got this set in the recent sale, and I know it's going to get a lot of use. Paper: Making Memories Stamps : Verve- Beautiful Kindness Tools : Fiskars treading water punch; Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder Accents : Pearls (Michael's); pen-faux stitching; Stickles

Learning new things

Last Wednesday the new video at Stamptv was all about coloring with colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I have to admit I have read about this before and was a little intimated. I thought that was something I could not do, but after watching Gina's video and trying it, I'm amazed at how easy it is. I colored an image using this technique and used the sketch at Stamps and Smiles to make a card. Here it is: Paper : Paper Adventures; HOTP, Bazzill cardstock Stamps : Unknown flower image; sentiment- Verve Tools : Martha Stewart Border Punch Accents : Brads

Two for Tuesday

Another beautiful pairing from beadsme and Southernscraps!

Something for Saturday

Just sharing some photos that my hubby, nephew, and I took at my parents' last month. These little creatures intrigue me. I chased these guys for a long time trying to get some decent shots. They were very active and did not want to sit still.

Butterfly quotes

I missed posting a quote yesterday, so here a two about one of my favorite things- butterflies. The butterfly counts not months, but moments and has time enough. Rabindranath Tagore What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. Richard Bach

Kindness

Today's quote: I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again. ~William Penn How true it is, for we never know when we are only going to get one chance to be nice to someone or not get a chance to make up for some wrong deed. So just be nice to start with. Some folks were nice to my co-workers and I this week and provided lunch for us. So, to thank them I made this card. The circle and butterfly are applied with pop dots for dimension. The butterfly was stamped, colored, and cut out. The background paper is a little busy, but overall I'm happy with how this turned out.

It's Friday!

Today's feature is this awesome bracelet by ButtonEnvy at etsy. It's made with eight Scrabble tiles! How cool is that? And how it that for repurposing and altering? She has 21 of these currently listed in all sorts of designs, inlcuding birds, flowers, and vintage designs. I happen to like butterflies so this one got my attention. You'll also find other "repurposed" jewelery so head on over and check out her shop! Today's quote: The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. ~Rabindranath Tagore

It's Friday!

Featured today is this adorable Note and Tote Set from my shop . This tote and everything in it was made by adding digital art images to templates in a photo software program. Everything was printed, cut, assembled, and then embellished. This particular set was designed with the art work of Debbie Mumm. The tote itself is made from two sheets of cardstock. The tote contains a bookmark, four note cards, a journal (journal is embellished with ribbon tied to the binder rings), a post it note holder, and a gift box that will hold snack size Hershey's chocolates with matching wrappers for the chocolates. These make great gifts for teachers, administrative professionals, and moms! A closer look at all the items in the tote can be seen in my shop. If you love butterflies, you'll love this little set!

Spring forward

Did you spring forward? If not you're going to be late for church or work or wherever you planned to be. Daylights savings time began today. It's a little early because the daylight savings time period has been extended by a few weeks. I don't have too hard of a time adjusting to this change. I think falling back is harder. I like this change because I can still go for a run in the daylight when I get home. Personally, I think the powers to be should leave it alone, nature lengthens and shortens the days on its own. But when do humans leave anything alone? They must control it in some way. So spring forward and enjoy the extra daylight and the coming spring.
