I worked on some Christmas cards this weekend (I know I'm behind schedule compared to die hard stampers). I always turn to challenges and sketches for inspiration so I played along with a few challenges. Crazy4Challenges had a "wrap it up" challenge.  I made a gift card holder . Crazy4challenges is celebrating by issuing a challenge to have some image related to chocolate on your card. I played along and used this cute image from Mo's Digital Pencil . I designed another gift card holder using the sketch from Sketch Saturday . The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Papers are from Lime Ricky by Basic Grey and Bazzill cardstock. So, here's my favorite way to use chocolate chips. Cowboy Cookies (this includes directions for making the mix in a jar as a gift. Recipe from All Recipes .) What else could a mother want for Mother's Day besides hugs and kisses? Here's the card I made for my mother. I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop and combined some challenges for Just Magnolia (to use buttons, bows, and bling) and Crazy4Challenges to use 3 different papers, 2 flowers, and 1 button). I've been making gift card holders again. My hubby and nephew love video games. This gift card holder would be great to hold a Gamestop gift card or other game store card. I can't resist linking up to a challenge once in a while. Stampin Sisters in Christ always has a great message with their challenge. This week the challenge is to use green. The Basic Grey Lime Ricky papers I've used fit this perfectly. I'll also be linking this up to some of the linky parties on the side. If you want to make your own gift card holder, you'll need a piece of cardstock 11 inches by 4.25. Score at 5.5 and fold. Glue the two long outer edges, but just the edges. You'll want the insert to fit. Cut a piece of cardstock 3 inches by 5 inches. The rest is up to you. Use whatever image or craft goodies you want to embellish your gift card holder. I'm popping in with a card I made for a couple of challenges. I am not playing with the challenges nearly as much as I used to be but I am working on my Christmas cards and I'm incorporating a challenge here and there when I can. Charisma Cardz and Critter Sketch both issued challenges for Christmas cards. I made this  Christmas card  using MFT stamps ( Santa Baby) and Basic Grey papers. It's a fun little card for your special guy- the inside reads "All I Want for Christmas is you." I did get to make cards today on World Card Making Day. I actually started on Christmas cards! Here are the two cards that I completed: The first one is for a release challenge at StampTV to make a 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 card. I've never made this size but I like it. I'm thinking that it would make a cute place card for a dinner table with the right image and words. The sentiment and image are from GKD Simple Pleasures . I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The second one is the Christmas card. It's also for a StampTV release challenge to use two sets from one set. I used two different ones from A Very Merry Christmas . I stamped the one on the background and heat embossed it using Stampendous jeweled gold. I love how it sparkles. The picture does not do it justice. Sometimes embossing doesn't turn out so well for me, but this did beautifully on the Gina K cardstock , so I embossed enough for a set of six and also embossed the tree from this stamp ...

The challenge this week at OCC was to make an anniversary card inspired by the recipient's year. This was the perfect challenge for me (even thought I'm sliding in at the last minute) as I need a card for my brother's fifth anniversary next week. I chose to go with the flower for year five- the daisy. I used a daisy image from Flourishes and some photo paper of daisies as they have a "picture it" challenge this week. I based the layout of the card on the sketch at Creative Card Crew . I'm also submitting this for Cute Card Thursday as my brother is someone special and for Stamp Something as this is a celebration of his anniversary. Thanks for looking!

The BasicGrey Challenge this week is to use this photo as inspiration. I was mostly inspired by the reds and used BasicGrey papers in these colors. I based the layout on the Mojo Monday Sketch 137. Stamptacular Sundays is celebrating moms and is calling for a woman or lady on your card- I chose a Bella- butterflyabella. With her flutterby and the punched flutterby I've also met the challenge at Flutter by Wednesday . Paperplay challenges wants to see a stamp and bling. I've made this card using a sweet image from Karen's Doodle's which I think is perfect for Mother's Day (what Mother's heart wouldn't melt over this sweet little girl?) and based the layout on Pixie Cottage's sketch . I didn't quite get the sketch right and didn't notice until I had already cut my paper, but it's still close. I've also fit in the Charisma Cards girly with flowers theme and I made one of my flowers with dies and punches for the Cute Card Thursday challenge . Here it is:

I've got a couple of cards to share based on some sketch challenges. First up is one for Truly Scumptious with a theme of April Showers. I've just recently discovered this challenge blog and their stamps and I have more on my wish list now! It is all about recyling and my item is the soda pop tab used as a ribbon slide under the bow and button. This card also fits the theme at A Spoonful of Sugar this week- birthday. I thought for a little while that Simon Says had me stumped with their movie challenge. I don't have any ticket stubs, I didn't really want to make a popcorn box or candy holder, although those would have fit. I started thinking of favorite movies and stamps that might fit. A Knight't Tale and Prince Ian- that's what I came up with. Here he is: The other part of the challenge is dry embossing. It's hard to see, but I've embossed the top right panel with a Cuttlebug argyle folder. I've also used blue, gold, and white and BasicGrey boxer papers for the BasicGrey Challenge . We could all stand to be lifted up in prayer, not just in difficult times, but daily. I'm so glad to know there are people who pray for me. I used this ODB stamp from the Lift Up Our Hands set for this weeks ODBDSLC- sketch challenge and Stampin' Sisters in Christ's prayer/peace theme challenge . I modified the sketch a little because it was just not working for me. My two panels are not as long as they are supposed to be but I still like the end results. I played with my new BasicGrey green at heart paper . I've had it for a couple of weeks but just got to tear into it today. I made a card for the BasicGrey challenges blog sketch challenge . I made my sentiment a circle as I was working in the Anyone for Anya challenge - 3 of a shape, 2 of another, and 1 of another. I have three squares, two rectangles and a circle. I used some flowers and pearl cabachons to fit in the All Sorts petals and pearls challenge . I did some real stitching today ( Stamp Something's challenge ) and added some distressing on the outer edges for the ATS challenge . ATS carries this lovely Miss Anya Dressy. Well, not really me but my card... LOL. Here is my flower shaped card for the ATS challenge. I've combined this with Crazy4Challenges recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 brads, and 3 punches. I used a scalloped circle punch (the dotted circle), and two different butterfly punches. OCC also wanted to see bows. I did some faux stitching with white pen for the Stamp Something challenge . Just Magnolia also issued a challenge for punches. This is my first time playing with them as this is my first Magnolia stamp. I resisted them for a long time but I've now discovered how much fun they are to color. I colored Tilda with copics (sorry I didn't keep up with the colors). Thanks for looking!

I've squeezed in a few more challenges this afternoon. I've used a kraft base for the Crazy4Challenges kraft challenge and this WS Ebony stamp from TGF for the Club Anya WCW challenge. The layout of the card used the sketch at Paper Sundaes . Simon Says has a challenge to make a card for a child. I think this green hair would make any child happy! And I came across a challenge for lime, black, and flowers on Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog .

We are almost over the hump and by tomorrow the weekend will be even closer. I hope everyone is having a great week. Tonight's card is probably my last Easter card. A couple of challenge blogs are still having Easter challenges- Stampin' for the Weekend and Dare U to Digi Stamp . My card features a cute puppy with egg digi from Karen's Doodles. I've colored him with copics. I made the card based on the Inspirational Card Sketches sketch and I punched the squares out of some scraps for the Digital Tuesday "Scrap It' Challenge . I did some doodling with black marker for the Stamp Something Challenge . I've got pastels for TPE and last but not least, this fits Pile it On - Animals. Papertake Weekly has an open theme so I added some bling and pearls. Whew. That was a lot. Thanks for stickin' through to the end.

Many challenge blogs had Easter/Spring as a theme this week. I've made an Easter card using the Sweet Stop Sketch (with a spin). The spin is to use something fuzzy. I used a bunny image and I've attempted to color her with my copics so that she looks furry and fuzzy. I've also used some felt flowers that I cut with Cuttlebug dies. The challenge for Pile it On is also to use " furry friends".
