For Someone Special

The challenge this week at OCC was to make an anniversary card inspired by the recipient's year. This was the perfect challenge for me (even thought I'm sliding in at the last minute) as I need a card for my brother's fifth anniversary next week. I chose to go with the flower for year five- the daisy. I used a daisy image from Flourishes and some photo paper of daisies as they have a "picture it" challenge this week. I based the layout of the card on the sketch at Creative Card Crew . I'm also submitting this for Cute Card Thursday as my brother is someone special and for Stamp Something as this is a celebration of his anniversary. Thanks for looking!

Treasures

Day 4 of Flourishes celebrations was to use sparkle. I used Seaside Life and added some stickles to the shells. I also added lots of bling. The layout of my card is based on Sketch Saturday's sketch . Stamps: Flourishes Paper: K&Co. Tools: Nestabilities; Copics Accents: rhinestones, Stickles

Celebration

FLourishes is having a celebration and has had a week full of challenges. I made this card for Timeless Tuesday celebration theme and for Cute Card Thursday . Most celebrations involve gifts, so I've used an image from All Wrapped Up. My colors come from Color Throwdown's color chall enge and the layout of my card is from Friday Sketchers . Here is my card: Stamps: Flourishes Paper: BasicGrey Tools: Copics; Nestabilities Accents: Prima flowers, rhinestones, brad Here are the copics I used: Thanks for looking and sharing your comments! Don't forget to spring forward! At this hour, I am going to really miss my hour tomorrow.

Framed

I cut a frame with my Nestabilities labels four and added some bling to it for the FTTC52E. Last is my card for the FTTC52F - use your favorite set. Right now Beach Life is my favorite set. I combined this with the sketch challenge at Paper Sundaes.

All in pink

This one is for FTTC52D - use pink. I combined this one with Cute Card Thursday Spots and Dots. I used Flourishes Gerbera Daisies and Making Memories paper. I colores my flowers with Copics.

Beach scene

I'll be quickly posting a series of cards that I just finished. This one is for the Flourishes FTTC52A . I've used Flourishes Beach Life set and K&Co. paper. I colored my scene with Copics. I dabbed on the sky with Memento ink and an sponge dauber.

Wish you were here

I took another stab at the Friday Sketchers sketch . I still didn't follow the square shape, but I used the basic idea. This is a great simple sketch. I've used it for my Flourishes Timeless Tuesday card. The challenge was to be inspired by the letter "P" so I thought of "palms" and punches. Stamps: Flourishes beach life Paper: K&Co. Tools: Nestabilities, MS border punch Accents: flower, brad

Back to the blog

Hi blog readers and followers. Sorry for my lapse in posting. I have not been participating in any challenges or blogging since the last post because I have worked on a 62 page family history scrapbook for my dad's 70th birthday. It took all of my spare time and I had to let other things go. It was worth it though. We had a party last night and all the family and friends really enjoyed looking at the book. I did get a chance to participate in some challenges this week. I used them to make birthday cards for my mom and dad. Their birthdays are two days apart. The first one was for my Mom and uses the Friday Sketchers sketch, a charm that fits the Simon Says challenge , and red posies that inspired my color scheme for the Flourishes Floral Finesse challenge . Stamp: Posies (Flourishes) Paper: K and Co.; Bazzill Tools: Square punch Accents: Brads, flowers, charm My second card is for the sketch challenge over at StampTV. I rotated the sketch. Thanks for looking. I hope to be worki...

A Season that Sparkles

Right on the heels of Halloween and Thanksgiving will be Christmas. Flourishes is gearing up for a season that sparkles and issued a release challenge to make a card in that theme. Here's mine using the sketch from OCC's sketch challenge . Stamp: Flourishes All Wrapped Up Paper: DCWV Accents: Stickles I didn't get to participate in many challenges this week. There were some awesome prizes up for grabs but I missed playing because I went on a weekend getaway with my hubby for our anniversary (totally worth the stamping sacrifice) and as soon as I returned I had to go to work and worked three full days of overtime! I did get in one more challenge. Here is my card for the Sketch Saturday sketch. I left off one strip but I think it still follows the sketch. The deets: Stamp: VC digi stamp Paper: Making Memories Tools: Cuttlebug embossing folder Accents: flowers, brad

Fit for Royalty

This week there is a release challenge at Flourishes Newsletter to make a card fit for royalty. Mention royalty around me and I think purple and gold. So I used some purple print papers from my stash (very old stash) and edged a couple of the panels with gold leafing. I used this week's sketch from Sketch Satu rday for the layout of my card. I've also got some gold paper charms on my card. This week's challenge at Stamp Something is to use charms. Papers: HOTP Stamp: Flourishes lilac Accents: Ribbon, charms (HOTP), flowers, brads

Happy Birthday

to Flourishes! They are celebrating their second birthday and have a little challenge going on to make a birthday card. I can always use those. I based my card on the sketch from Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. OCC is having a color challenge this week- purple. That was a sure fit for me as I seem to be drawn to creating purple cards and I instantly thought of my BasicGrey Wisteria paper. The challenge at The Pink Elephant this week is a recipe- 3 brads, one flower, and design paper. I managed to work that in too. So here's my card: (drumroll please.... just kidding) Stamps: Flourishes All Wrapped Up; sentiment MFT Paper: BasicGrey wisteria Accents: silk flower (Wal-mart); brads- Making Memories Tools: Nestabilities petite oval and scalloped oval; Prismacolor pencils and blender

A couple more challenge cards

I combined several challenges with the next two cards. Both of them feature die cuts cut with my Sizzix for the Dutch Dare Card Challenge. The first one is for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge to use shimmerz or anything to make it sparkle. I don't have shimmerz so I used Stickles to make that big bow shiny and sparkly. The layout for this card is the sketch from the Little Paper shop and the color theme was inspired by PaperTake Weekly's Color combo challenge. I chose pink and yellow. Little Paper Shop also has a challenge to make a birthday card and it can be combined with the sketch. A Spoonfull of Sugar also challenges you to use swirls this week, so I've used a swirl on my card. Stamp: Flourishes All Wrapped Up Paper: K&Co. Accents: Stickles, Fiskars border punch, flowers 2 die cuts and swirl by Sizzix Next is another card using die cut corners. This card is for Digital Tuesday Challenge. It's Christmas in July. My image is from Victoria Case Art Des...
