Hello! I just want to say hi and welcome to my new followers. I'd love to visit each of you but some of you don't have a blog linked to your profile. If you want to remedy that, there's a link to a how-to HERE. Nonetheless, I welcome each of you and hope you will find some inspiration here and share your thoughts and ideas with me as well.
I didn't get around to doing an embellished tank this week, but I did take another stab at some appliqued dish towels. My niece is getting married and is using strawberries in
her kitchen. Strawberry dish towels are no where to be found in South Georgia, so I made my own. I purchased two towels from the Dollar Tree and a fat quarter with a strawberry print from Joann's. (It was half off so it was 50 cents!) I already had a red checkered print fabric in my stash and some Heat N Bond, so I made both towels for $2.50!
I found a a template for the strawberry at Whimsy Couture. I followed the instructions at Yellow Plum Blossom for the ruffles but I only did one row of ruffles on each towel since there was a border on the towels already.
What do you think? I'm pleased with these and my niece loved them. This take on embellished dish towels was much better than my first try with the firecracker towels.
