Back to School

The Simon Says Challenge this week is to make a back to school project. I really don't have any school themed stamps so I made this altered mini notebook. Every student needs to take notes. You have probably seen me share a tote and card in the past that coordinates with this. Slowly but surely, I'm putting together a whole coordinating gift set.

Masculine birthday card

When I needed a masculine card at the last minute this week, I realized that I don't have nearly enough of them on hand. So I combined the color challenge at StampTV with the sketch at The Pink Elephant's sketch challenge and came up with this card yesterday.

Stamps: GinaK Designs; sentiment- MFT
Paper: Cardstock; BasicGrey
Accents: Fibers
Tools: Nestabilities label; Walnut Ink

The Goodness of Life

When you think about it, the goodness of life is not in all the big things, it's the little things, like a cup of coffee, shared with a friend, or savored in a quite moment to oneself. And the goodness of life is also found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

I created this card for a new challenge blog I discovered last week- Stampin Sisters in Christ. The focus scripture is:

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 (NIV)

and the challenge is to create a card with a food or drink theme.

I used the sketch from this week's challenge at PaperTake Weekly for my design.

Stamps: Verve
Paper: BasicGrey
Accents: Ribbon, rhinestones (Michael's)

I've been out of town for a few days, thus my excuse for no Two for Tuesday. I meant to schedule it before I left, but ran out of time. I did get to make a card for a challenge while I was away and had some down time, so I'll share it with you before I go unpack and get ready to return to work. I made this for the Stampin for the Weekend Challenge. It's a color challenge this week- pink and grey. I used pink and grey and some other colors, so I hope it still counts.

Stamps: Cruisabella by Stamping Bella
Paper: We R Memory Keepers
Tools: Cup from the motel room to trace circle (hehe)

No stamping this week

(frown) .... I've been sick and still busy with work and trying to catch up things at home, so I have not been able to stamp. But I did get to make this card that I'm sharing for the CPS sketch this week.

There was no stamping involved at all. All of my supplies are from Little Yellow Bicycle except for the ghosts and rub on stitches. I cut the ghosts from some stiff glitter felt with my Big Shot and the ghosts 2 die. The rub-ons are by DCWV.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend. Maybe I'll be back later with something else to share.

Fit for Royalty

This week there is a release challenge at Flourishes Newsletter to make a card fit for royalty. Mention royalty around me and I think purple and gold. So I used some purple print papers from my stash (very old stash) and edged a couple of the panels with gold leafing. I used this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout of my card. I've also got some gold paper charms on my card. This week's challenge at Stamp Something is to use charms.

Papers: HOTP
Stamp: Flourishes lilac
Accents: Ribbon, charms (HOTP), flowers, brads

Have a great Tuesday!

marrakech mojo

I'm here today with my card for Mojo Monday 98. I used paper from BasicGrey marrakech and was inspired to go to them by the OCC inspiration challenge this week. I already had fall on my mind. Papertake weekly has challenged readers to use colors we associate with a season and I was trying to put together a fall combo. The photo at OCC made it click.

I've done some piercing on this card and further accented it rhinestones from Michael's. I just love the color of them.

Paper: BasicGrey
Stamps: Verve Beautiful kindness
Ink: Memento rhubarb stalk and potter's clay
Tools: Nestabilities circles and Labels Two; paper piercer
Accents: Rhinestones; ribbon

Happy Birthday

to Flourishes! They are celebrating their second birthday and have a little challenge going on to make a birthday card. I can always use those. I based my card on the sketch from Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.OCC is having a color challenge this week- purple. That was a sure fit for me as I seem to be drawn to creating purple cards and I instantly thought of my BasicGrey Wisteria paper. The challenge at The Pink Elephant this week is a recipe- 3 brads, one flower, and design paper. I managed to work that in too.

So here's my card: (drumroll please.... just kidding)

Stamps: Flourishes All Wrapped Up; sentiment MFT
Paper: BasicGrey wisteria
Accents: silk flower (Wal-mart); brads- Making Memories
Tools: Nestabilities petite oval and scalloped oval; Prismacolor pencils and blender
