Tried it out Thursday- Summer tshirt scarves

If you are looking for a quick and easy no sew scarf, these are the ones for you. I could not believe how quickly this came together. I love instant gratification!! I have  a stash of tshirts purchased at Michael's for $2.00 a piece on sale. I've had the shirts for several months and I can't believe I put this off. This was so much fun.

I tried out two of the three tutorials from thediydish. I started with the rolled strips/loops scarf ( I just made up that name for it, ha!).  I used two shirts in contrasting colors.

I think this version is too long for me. I was using an extra-large tshirt. I also tried a loop from a medium shirt and it's still too long for my liking. I may try this again with a child's shirt and see if I can come up with a length that is flattering for me. The diydish tutorial calls for 2 inch wide strips. This makes a pretty thick rolled loop.

I decided to try the Martha Stewart version of the tshirt necklace. This calls for narrower strips and then the strips are doubled for a shorter necklace. This one is much more suited for me.

Lastly, I made the no sew ruffled scarf. I love this.

Again, I used an extra large shirt and  I thought it was too long for me. I cut some off of each side and then glued those strips together to make additional strips for extra fullness.

Love it! What do you think?

I also came up with a bracelet with some of the leftover shirt materials. I'll be sharing that later.

  5. I love your t-shirt necklaces. You did a fantastic job on all of them. I too love to craft with t-shirt yarn or as I call it t-yarn. I just made a duster with it and it works great. I'm visiting from the Sunday Showcase link party. Best wishes and happy to visit your blog today.
