I found this tutorial at adelynSTONE one day for DIY eye makeup remover. So I tried it out.
Here are the ingredients:
1 C water
1½ TBSP Baby Shampoo (tear free)
⅛ TSP Baby Oil (Cocunut Oil or Olive Oil)
I poured mine into my old bottle of remover (and the leftovers into a small glass bowl with a lid.)
I'm pleased with the results.

Interesting!! Did it irritate your eyelids? Just wondering, because I have sensitive skin and seems like every eye makeup remover I try they are irritated the next morning.

How interesting, I've never even thought of making my own - and since I just ran out, now would be a good time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I always use just straight baby oil and then wash my face with a soap free cleanser, but this sounds so much better and less expensive. I'm going to try it. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an inexpensive experiment! Thank you for linking to Wicked Awesome Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Your Whims Wednesday! :)
I tried it and it worked well on eyeshadow and foundation..However I am having a hard time getting the liquid eyeliner off..Should I add a lil' extra of something maybe? :)
ReplyDeleteYou may want to add a little more of the shampoo for waterproof makeup, but I've read that this version does work for waterproof. Sometimes I have to make an extra swipe on the bottom to get it all off.
DeleteI tried it today and it worked fine on pencil eye liner, mascara, and eyebrow shadow :) I am sure it will more difficult on liquid eye liner but adding more shampoo might do the trick. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI just thought I would share with you that baby oil is 100% mineral oil and is not the est product for your skin. Go figure it's meant for babies. Mineral blocks your skin from breathing, another light oil would be a better choice. Cococnut has many great qualities. Good luck.
