Bling frame, candle holder and card- Mother's Day Gift Set

I wrote this post as part of campaign with Blueprint Social. All opinions are my own.
It seems like we always need a quick gift for an unexpected occasion. Mother’s Day is coming up, followed by graduation and the end of the school year. When I received my box of Gemz and Bling on a Roll, I instantly started thinking about sparkly gifts for divas for those occasions. I came up with this card, frame and candle holder gift set. Perfect for mom or the girly diva graduate.

To make the card, I started with a sketch from I "Heart" 2 Stamp  I love using a sketch as a starting point for a card or paper craft project.  I used a premade card base that is 6.5 inches by 5 inches.  To make the card:

Cut a green card stock panel to fit the front of the card.

Cut from patterned paper a 2 1/2 in. x 6 1/4 in. strip and two 4 in. x 2 1/2 in. strips. I used a piece of glitter patterned paper for my longer strip since I wanted this to be a sparkly project. I also punched the edge of the long strip with a scalloped punch and inked the edges.
Layer the strips as shown.

Cut a strip of 3 Black silver Bling on  Roll and layer over strip. Cut two sections of Black silver Bling on a Roll three sections long and layer at the top and bottom over the smaller pieces of patterned paper as shown. Bling on a Roll can be used on cards and layouts in many of the same ways you would use regular ribbon.
Stamp, and color if necessary, image of choice. Adhere image as shown. I used foam pop dots to attach the image so it would have a little height and clear the Bling on a Roll.

For the picture frame you will need:

·        Wood frame

·        White acrylic paint

·        Scrapbook paper

·        Bling on a Roll

·        Mod Podge, glue gun, and glue

I mimicked the sketch on the frame too. I started with an unfinished wood frame that measures 9.6 in. x 7.6 in. with a 6 x 4 picture opening. To make your own, first paint the frame with white acrylic paint. Cut the following strips from patterned paper- 8 3/4 in. x 1 1/2 in., two 1 in x 7 1/2 in strips and two 1 1/2 x 2 1/8  in. Adhere the 1 in. x 7 1/2 inch strips at the top left and bottom right of your frame with Mod Podge. Adhere the 8 3/4 in. x 1 1/2 in. strip next to the photo opening. Line up the two 1 1/2 in. x 2 1/8 in. strips with the long strip at the top and bottom of the photo opening. After everything is attached, coat over all of it with a coat of Mod Podge. Add Bling on a Roll as shown.

Last, to make the flower for the candle holder, cut eight 4 inch strips of Bling on a Roll. Fold each strip and glue ends together to form loops.

You may want to use hot glue for this. Once all loops are complete, glue to a small circle of felt to make a flower. Cover center with a button.

Glue a strip of Bling on a Roll around candle holder and glue flower on top.

Now you have a fun, sparkly gift set for Mom, graduate, or for a friend just because.
