Painted rattan balls

When I took down the Halloween decorations, I wasn't ready to put up my newly made hurricane vases. I wanted to continue to use them. So I decided to use them to display some fall/ Thanksgiving theme decorations. I wanted to add some warm browns and coppers to my decor, so I got some of the rattan balls from the Dollar Tree. I purchased some spray paint from the clearance section of Michael's - Valspar Odds n Ends fast dry enamel in copper and Valspar suede interior mid brown. The copper was a small can and you can tell in my close up photos that I really needed another one to do another coat, but from a distance the balls look good in the vase and I'm pleased. I really like the suede paint too and I'm looking for something else to paint. I painted all of the balls in the packages (2) and had more than I needed for the vase, so I put the extras in a dish on the bottom shelf of my bookshelf/sofa table. Here's my vase and balls ( and you're getting a sneak peak of the rest of my fall decor which I'll share in another post.)

I highly recommend rattan balls and paint for a quick easy decoration you can customize for your liking.

I'll be linking up at Get Your Craft On and other parties listed on the side.

  2. I just purchased some of these from Dollar Tree, too, with the same intent of painting some! I also picked up some moss and I'm going to attempt to glue the moss to the balls... we'll see if that works out or not. Ha!
Fun to see someone on the same wavelength!

  3. Those are really cute. I have some of that Valspar copper that I got on clearance at Michaels, too. I haven't decided what I was going to use it for, though! Really like your idea.
