WIWW- Red and white stripes

Shirt- Forever 21; skirt- Old Navy shoes- TJMaxx necklace/earrings- Sears   It seems I have a thing for stripes. I showed you an outfit with stripes last week, and here is another one. I like red and grey together too. I have been tempted so many times to throw this skirt in the Goodwill pile, but now that I've lost some weight, I'm glad I kept it.   And I'll take all the stripes I can get.   What's your favorite pattern? Stripes? Dots? Flowers? Plaid? I love them all.   Linking up with WIWW .

Fall Mantel with DIY Chevron Panel

I love the colors of fall and was excited to bring them into my home, but I wasn't quite ready to let go of summer. So just as I did with my porch and tablescape , I left some of my summer elements on the mantel and incorporated some fall. Here's the full shot of the mantel (along with the hideous tube TV and VCR, yes I said tube TV and V. C. R.  and we aren't that old or far behind on technology. We just don't watch TV.) Lets take a closer look at the lovely details: I left out one of the framed sea shells and homemade starfish and added some pumpkins. I made a chevron panel in orange to add a pop of color as a backdrop. My houndstooth duct tape pumpkin is making an appearance again. The panel and pumpkin will make an easy transition to Halloween. The other side features more pumpkins, seashells and some leaves on a frame . Below on the hearth are some white pumpkins and a scattering of leaves and shells. If you are interested in ma...

Worth a Thousand Words (WATW)

Hi, it's Tuesday, the day I share a photo from my life or travels. I provide very little description because, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Fast and easy fall craft

This has got to be one of the easiest and quickest crafts I've ever done. I was inspired by this project at Midwest Living . I already had a red frame on hand. If you don't, go grab a plain wood one from the craft of dollar store and paint it red. Instead of adding hooks or nails to my frame, I just tied ribbon around each side of the frame and then pinned fake leaves to the ribbon. You can get these leaves in packs from the Dollar Tree, Michaels, or just pull of few off an old garland. I'm using my framed leaves on the mantel and love the pop of color they give.
