Last minute cards

Sharing some cards I made for the family. These will be hand delivered. I made this first one using Mercy's Tuesday sketch and a digi image from Sweet N Sassy stamps. I used some snowflakes for the Digital Tuesday challenge and OCC. It also fits the Dare U 2 digi stamp "last minute cards" as it's almost last minute for the challenge too. This one was made using the Sketch Saturday sketch . I used a Sarah Kay stamped image that I colored with pencils and markers. Thanks for looking and have a Merry Christmas! I'm off to have dinner and exchange gifts with my hubby!

More hanging treat boxes

I'm back to share more of those hanging treat boxes I made for the SS class. They fit quite a few challenges too. Up first is one that fits The Pink Elephant winter/Christmas challenge and Simon Says Merry Christmas. Stamp: GinaK Designs Tools: Nestabilities, rub on Next up is one for the Stamp Something Holiday challenge . Stamp: Sweet N Sassy Stamps digi stamp Tools: Prismacolor pencils, OMS, Nestabilities What better to remind us of the CHRISTMAS season than the shephard boy? Next is a box for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge for a last minute gift. These boxes are easy and quick to make. You could fill them with Hershey chocolate sticks instead of drink mixes. Here is a link to the tutorial: SCS Stamp: AngelsLanding Ho Ho Holidays digi stamp Tools: Prismacolor pencils, Nestabilities Last is another box for the Crazy4Challenges treat box challenge and Allsorts anthing but a card. Stamp: Character Cafe Tools: Nestabilities

Treat box

I'm back tonight to share a little treat box I made. I'm making these for my Sunday School class. I will hang them on a water bottle and fill with drink mixes. I also made this with the Our Creative Corner challenge in mind. I'll be making several of these and they won't all be the same, so hopefully I'll be back to share more before the weekend is out.

One card, four challenges

I'm still trying to squeeze in a few cards and challenges here before Christmas. This one was made to fit four challenges. First I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers as my layout. The colors were inspired by Stampin for the weekend's color challenge - blue and brown. The Stamp Something challenge is for winter wonderland and Crazy4challenges is looking for snow or snowflakes. When I think of winter wonderland, I think of everything glistening so I added some stickles to my snowflakes. Here it is: Stamp :Digi stamp Ildi Co . Paper : Deja views; Bazzill Tools: Poseabilities snowflake die Accents: Stickles, crystal brads

Quick and easy

This is a fairly quick and easy card. It had to be for me to make the Mojo Monday deadline for sketch 116. Here I am at the last minute again, due to all the holiday shopping and decorating. I used a digi stamp from Whimsie Doodles and my nestabilities to cut the circles. I used Bo Bunny St. Nick paper and deliberatly chose to cut those Santas into the circles so they would peek out from the sentiment. This digi stamp is one of those "must haves" the minute I saw it. I've got a nephew and a friend who says the magic of Christmas is gone as an adult that this will be perfect for. I'm also using this card for the Dare U to Digi Stamp challenge to use red, green, and a neutral. I've pretty much shared the details of the card. Just cut and paste. I could have done some more embellishing on the circles but I like it the way it is. The paper itself add a lot. Thanks for looking.

Back to the blog

Hi blog readers and followers. Sorry for my lapse in posting. I have not been participating in any challenges or blogging since the last post because I have worked on a 62 page family history scrapbook for my dad's 70th birthday. It took all of my spare time and I had to let other things go. It was worth it though. We had a party last night and all the family and friends really enjoyed looking at the book. I did get a chance to participate in some challenges this week. I used them to make birthday cards for my mom and dad. Their birthdays are two days apart. The first one was for my Mom and uses the Friday Sketchers sketch, a charm that fits the Simon Says challenge , and red posies that inspired my color scheme for the Flourishes Floral Finesse challenge . Stamp: Posies (Flourishes) Paper: K and Co.; Bazzill Tools: Square punch Accents: Brads, flowers, charm My second card is for the sketch challenge over at StampTV. I rotated the sketch. Thanks for looking. I hope to be worki...

Holiday box

I'm back with a quick post on a cute little box I just whipped up. Really, like in 30 minutes. I did two pages of that other project I mentioned and while getting supper together I made this box. It's for the Stampin for the Weekend challenge (I'm cutting it close) and for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge . I used K&Co paper and a template from the Digi Chick. Flowers on top are Primas and the bells are stamps from GinaK Designs. The "For You" tag is from Flourishes.

Christmas mail

Don't you love getting Christmas cards in the mail? It's better than bills. I love this Sarah Kay image of Noel sending Christmas cards. The card I've made with her was made to fit in some challenges. I have a big project to work on so I have to limit the card making right now, and have combined several challenges into one. Somehow though, I just can't stay away. Stamp Something has a recipe challenge- 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 embellies. My three are die cuts, glitter dots, and Stickles. I love the shimmery snow underneath Noel's feet. The sketch is from the Sketch Saturday challenge and the bling is for All Sorts . Here is my card: Thanks for looking!

Happy Thanksgiving

I normally don't make Thanksgiving cards, but I made this one for a few challenges. Simon Says wants to see Thanksgiving or thank you cards and Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #56 is for Thanksgiving. The layout of the card is based on the sketch for the Sweet N Sassy Stamps challenge at PaperCraft Planet. Here is my card: Paper: K&Co. Stamp: SNSS Digi Harvest of Blessings Accents: Cuttlebug vintage corners Tools: Martha Stewart Punch; Nestabilities

Ring the bells

I finally managed to get in a card this week. This is going to be super short because it's really late. I made this card for the Mojo Monday sketch this week. The colors were inspired by the StampTV color challenge this week- dark purple, black, and gold. I would have never put these colors together on my own and definitely wouldn't have made a Christmas card in these colors, but I like it. Paper: BasicGrey Wisteria; Bazzill cardstock, Stamp: Very Merry Christmas-GinaK Designs Accents: Brads, rubons Tools: Sizzix, Nestabilities poseabilities snowflake, Star punch

Two for Tuesday

Whew! After a lapse in posting my features, I'm back today with a two for tuesday. Need a fun gift? Give these cute cupcake pajama shorts by thepinkdesigns and this cute cupcake card Have a great week!

Treat bag toppers

Life is still busy and crazy! I'm trying to get some treat bag toppers made for the Halloween candy I'll be giving away this weekend. Since I was making these anyway, I squeezed in a few challenges with them. The first one is for Stamp Something - Halloween . I used a digi image from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. (I'm using digi images because there is no clean, flat surface to stamp on in my craft space right now.) I did some pen detailing and that's about it. Oh, I colored the image with my Marvy Markers. The next topper is for the Digital Tuesday challenge to use kraft, orange and one other color. It's also for Stampin for the weekend - Fangtastic Halloween. The digi image is a Dustin Pike freebie . I colored this one with colored pencils and embellished with ribbon and a brad. Thanks for looking. I hope you are having a great week.

Things with wings

Boy, time flies. I have been very busy the past couple of weeks. I guess you can tell by the lack of posts. I have managed to get in one card that fits the challenge at Digital Tuesday- things with wings . My image is a cute bird from Victoria Case.

A Season that Sparkles

Right on the heels of Halloween and Thanksgiving will be Christmas. Flourishes is gearing up for a season that sparkles and issued a release challenge to make a card in that theme. Here's mine using the sketch from OCC's sketch challenge . Stamp: Flourishes All Wrapped Up Paper: DCWV Accents: Stickles I didn't get to participate in many challenges this week. There were some awesome prizes up for grabs but I missed playing because I went on a weekend getaway with my hubby for our anniversary (totally worth the stamping sacrifice) and as soon as I returned I had to go to work and worked three full days of overtime! I did get in one more challenge. Here is my card for the Sketch Saturday sketch. I left off one strip but I think it still follows the sketch. The deets: Stamp: VC digi stamp Paper: Making Memories Tools: Cuttlebug embossing folder Accents: flowers, brad

Sing a joyful song

The digitgal Tuesday challenge this week was to make a card based on a music theme. I chose to use these cute carolers and make it a Christmas card. I based the layout on Mercy's Tuesday sketch . Since I went with nontraditional Christmas colors, this one fits the Little Paper Shop challenge too. Stamp : Digi image from Squigglefly; sentiment Inkadinkado Paper : BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses Accents: Acrylic gems (Walmart); Stickles Tools : Nestabilities

Whiff of Joy Anniversary Challenge

You've still got today to play. I love these adorable images. I'd love to win some as my collection is very small. Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Anniversary Challenge. Paper: K&Co. Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow with flower basket; sentiment- MFT Accents: Brads, flowers (Prisma) Tools: Marvy Markers, Nestabilities

More Halloween challenges

I just posted about how everyone is wanting Halloween projects this week. I'm back with one more for a couple more challenges. Simon Says wants Halloween and so does the Cuttlebug Be Inspired #52. I used the same colors again as required by The Pink Elephant . I used Jen's sketch from last week for the layout. The battery on my good camera was dead so I'm using the old one which does a horrible job with lighting, so the embossing is a little hard to see. Paper: Making Memories Stamps: Sentiment- MLYB; Witch- Dog Gone Stamps Tools: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug d'vine swirls folder; Big Shot; Marvy Markers

Halloween is coming

and everyone is challenging us to make Halloween projects or use those colors! So much fun. The Pink Elephant is challenging us to use black, white, orange and purple. A Spoonfull of Sugar wants to see Halloween and the Stamptv technique challenge this week is for a candy gift. I made a little triangle box to meet these challenges. Opps, I almost forgot deets! Paper: cardstock Stamp: Digi image digital delights by LoubyLoo; sentiment- GinaK Accents: ribbon, eyelet Tools: Nestabilities; Marvy Markers; paper piercer

Need a little thinking of you gift? Why not send something seasonal like these Autumn Bouquet - Palm Wax Tarts (Melts) (3) by jennuinecandles with this Fall leaves greeting card ? Happy Fall!!

Red and Green

I made another challenge card today. This one combines four challenges. I love to make cards and I'm not trying to slack on the challenges, but I love it when they work together. Simon Says is asking for Red and Green and ASpoonfull of Sugar has challenged us to make Christmas cards. What better colors for Christmas than red and green? I used Mercy's sketch because I wanted to make my card a money/gift certificate holder and the sketch fit that perfectly. I added a little gold for the StampTV Potluck Challenge . Here is my card: I put a punched border and some of the patterned paper inside too, but I forgot to take a picture of the inside. Stamp : GinaK Designs A year of flowers Paper : DCWV Christmas glitter stack Accents: Brads, glitter dots, sentiment rub on MLYB, DCWV rub on stitches Tools : Nestabilities, border punch

Three in one

Happy World Card Making Day! I'm hoping to get geared up here in a bit. First, I just finished up a card I made for some weekly challenges. We've had a couple of deaths in our church family this week so I need to send some sympathy cards. Perfect timing for the "thinking of you/ praying for you" challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ. It is always hard to know what to say to a grieving family, but the challege verse there is a prayer we can all pray before we speak in any situation: Psalm 19:14: Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight Oh, Lord, my strength and my redeemer. I also made this card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday "outside the frame" and Papertake Weekly's black and white +1. I chose red. I think that is always a classic color combo. Here is my card: Stamps: Flourishes Poppy Patch; Verve sentiment Paper: Doodlebug, Making Memories Tools: Martha Stewart Lace Doily Punch, Nestabilities ovals...

Friday Feature- Haunted Mansion

It's October! That means we'll be gearing up for Halloween. I did a search on etsy for some things you might find in a "Haunted Mansion". First, you've got to encounter a creepy door knocker. Sanctuary Knocker - 8x10 Original Fine Art Photographic Print by barbaragordon Once inside you may find some candelabras Vintage Upcycled Metal Candelabra - Grape Purple by VintageMadnessShop or a mirror Vintage gold metal scalloped edge mirror fleur de lis shape by moxiemittens Depending on who's been there, you might find some potion bottles Halloween Poison and Potion Bottles by ShaneLilyRain and last, there's bound to be some freaky birds Vintage Googley Eyed Black Owls by SugarShorts

Mr. Moon

I just finished baking a chocolate cake. It's my first try at my grandmother's well known recipe and I think it turned out well. The icing is a homemade, hand stirred fudge icing. YUM! But it is a little bit of work, so I'm quickly sharing this card and then it's off to bed. This week the VC Stamp Challenge was to use black, purple and green. I love that as a Halloween combo. I used Mr. Moon digi stamp . The papers are K& Co. My layout is based on the sketch at Crazy4Challenges this week. A few deets : the black strip behind the image is embossed with the Cuttlebug d'vine swirls folder. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils. A little funny note: I colored where I shouldn't have on the witch, so she has a full set of sleeves in her dress. I guess I thought she shouldn't be so sexy, LOL!

Too much time...

...spent on this card. I was trying to do some machine stitching for the Simon Says challenge and I can never get the tension right. I spend way too much time adjusting and redoing and I still have crooked sloppy stitches and waste my precious paper! Oh well, we are not all perfect. I'll keep at it and one day I'll get it. If you have any tips for sewing on paper, please share. I didn't toss this card. I'm not happy but I'm posting it anyway. I incorporated three other challenges. I chose to use olive, mustard, and chocolate from the Color Thowdown choices. I used the sketch at the Pink Elephant and went with a fall theme for Stampin Sisters in Christ. Stamp: Harvest Fruits- Sweet n Sassy Paper : K&Co. Accents : Ribbon Tools : Nestabilities Label Four; Prismacolor pencils; Cuttlebug Vintage corners; Cuttlebug birds and vines folder

Friday Feature- Sapphires for September

The cool blue sapphire marks the season'schange from summer to autumn. For those born in the month of September, it relaxes and clears the mind. It also protects its owner from fraud, envy and ill health. A sapphire means blue in Greek. The sapphire is the symbol of heaven and joyful devotion to God. (Info from various web sources.) Since the gorgeous sapphire is the birthstone of September, we are focusing on some sapphire etsy finds this Friday. Getting ready for fall

No posting this weekend, as we went to a Sunday School conference. We learned some great things. Well, it seems everyone is getting ready for fall with all the fall challenges. I'm ready for the cooler temps. It's still getting to the 90's here. Here is a card I made to combine a few challenges. It uses a digi image and is for the digital tuesday Fall-clean and simple challenge . It's also for AspoonfullofSugar and I used this week's sketch from crazy4challenges. Stamp : digi-stamp Scarecrow digital delights Paper : K&Co. Accents : Jewels- K&Co. Tools : Prismacolor pencils, Nestabilities, chalks
