WIWW - sweater dress and fur vest

Dress- Target- old option vest- Belk option boots- shoes.com worn Nov. 24, 2013 I'm so glad I picked up this vest on clearance a couple of years ago. I was afraid this trend wouldn't last but for $15 I decided to try it out. Needless, to say, I've gotten my $15 dollars out of it. I'm also glad I decided to wear it with this dress. This dress makes an appearance a couple of times each fall with either a scarf or different accessories but sometimes I struggle to make a piece like this into "a different outfit". The vest was the trick this time. Linking up to:   WIWW

Thrifty Thanksgiving tablescape

I finally got the table set for Thanksgiving. I had great plans to make some placemats and utensil holders but it hasn't happened and I'm so far behind on Christmas that it probably won't. However, I recently picked up some items at the thrift store that were perfect for a Thanksgiving tablescape.

Spray painted pilgrims

Just a quick little post to share a paint transformation with you. I can't really call it a craft. All I had to do was spray a couple of coats of paint and I had updated Thanksgiving decor. I found this pair of pilgrims at my local thrift store. I thought they would be a neat addition to my fall/Thanksgiving decor but I wasn't crazy about the color.   I wanted a richer, warmer color, but something still earthy and natural looking. I went for Rustoleum oil rubbed bronze, the same paint I used on my thrift store birdcage . I'm very happy with the results and this couple now has a place on my Thanksgiving tablescape.           Linking up here:   Think Pink Sundays * Under the Table and Dreaming * Sundae Scoop * Suburb’s Mama Sunday link * DIY Sunday Showcase * Craftomaniac Monday * Make the Scene Monday * Masterpiece Monday * Motivate Me Monday * Market Yourself Mondays at Sumo’s Sweet Stuff * Pink Hippo Party * More The Merrier Monday * Mo

WIWW- Black, white, cobalt

shirt- JCPenney vest- Coldwater Creek similar pants-Loft similar shoes- Payless   Do you like colored pants? I do and I'm happy to have a work appropriate pair because I cannot wear colored skinny jeans to work. Black, white and cobalt are one of the season's trendiest color combos so of course that's how I'm wearing my cobalt pants.   Linking up to WIWW .

Paleo chili

It's been a while since I've shared a recipe and I don't have any crafts or other posts because this has been an incredibly busy week, so I thought I'd share our paleo chili. You may recall that I mentioned we did the Whole30 program back in March and discovered that our dietary change made a tremendous improvement in the hubby's health, so we've kept it up. We now eat about 90% paleo, and since we don't eat beans, we had to find a new way to make chili. It's a "go to" for us because you can make it in one pot on the stove in an hour or less, or put it in the crock pot on low and cook all day (8 hours).  Here's our version: 1-2 lbs grassfed beef (cooked and browned) one large red, green, yellow and orange bell pepper, chopped one onion, chopped 2 14 oz cans tomatoes chili powder, sea salt and pepper to taste I also add cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes. Easy and yummy. You might also like paleo pizza . Sharing here:
