Hydrangea egg

With all that's been going on personally with my parent's health, there has been no time for Easter or Spring crafting or decorating. I did manage to put up a small Easter vignette on the sofa table and this hydrangea egg is part of it. These were popular a couple of years ago, so of course I had to make my own. All you need is a styrofoam egg and a couple of faux hydrangea stems . Pull off each individual flower and pin to the egg with ball head pins until you have covered the egg. Easy.     I'll be sharing this project here: Think Pink Sundays * Under the Table and Dreaming * Sundae Scoop * Craftomaniac Monday * Make the Scene Monday * Masterpiece Monday * Motivate Me Monday * Market Yourself Mondays at Sumo’s Sweet Stuff * Pink Hippo Party * More The Merrier Monday * Make It Monday * Mop It Up Monday * Take a Look Tuesday * Handmade Tuesdays *   Tell Me Tuesday * Tuesday Talent Show * My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia * Tip Junkie * Get Your Craft On

Soap dispensers with vinyl monograms

Hi everyone. I was a little quiet last week but it was one of the worst weeks yet. Friday a week ago my father returned to the hospital for three days (just two days after being released from his bypass surgery) for some infections and then two days after he came home, my mother went back to the hospital after having another horrible a-fib episode that caused her to pass out (and caused vomiting). We had arranged for private sitters to stay with them, so we thought the week would be smoother but and we could get back to work, but not so. I only managed to work two days last week and I got sick after my mother's last trip to the hospital. I have the worst sinus infection I've had in years. I say worst- in terms of pain and pressure, the worst. I have been bed ridden all weekend. My brother had already planned to stay with my parents, but wouldn't you know, my first weekend home in a month, and I'm in.bed.SICK. Thanks for letting me whine. And please continue to pray. M

Fabulous Friday find- the garbage bowl

Hi all. I am happy to report that as of Tuesday, both parents are home. My Daddy is improving and recovering well, but my mother is continuing to have problems and still has surgery ahead of her. Prayers are still welcome. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, see my post from Monday .) I just popped in to share an idea I found a few weeks ago - the garbage bowl . Yep, a garbage bowl . Not can, bowl . Hop over to the kitchn  to read more about this fabulous idea? I'm one of those people who makes countless trips to the trash can while cooking. It's really not that far of a trip, but this little tip has really saved me time since I started using it in my kitchen. I usually grab a plain boring plastic bowl, but wouldn't some of these be fun? *This post contains affiliate links.

A personal storm

Hey blog friends! I haven't been around much in the last ten days. My father had a heart attack and triple bypass and my mother has been in the hospital for five days during the same time. My brother and I have been stretched out across four towns trying to provide care for them. Needless, to say, blogging is not top priority right now. But don't give up. God will provide a way and all will be well again. I'll be back later. Please keep my family in your prayers.
