I've been busy making cards today. This is my third post for the day too. That's more than I've done in a whole week in the past few weeks! It's so nice to have a break, but it's almost over and almost time to get ready for the work week. All of my cards in this post feature BasicGrey Wisteria . That seems to be my "go to" paper this weekend. First up is my card for the Cuttlebug Be Inspired challenge 32 - Butterflies. I don't have a Cuttlebug butterfly die, so I used a Sizzix die and embossed the wings with my Cuttlebug swiss dots folder. I also embossed a piece with the D'vine swirls and punched the small butterfly out of that so the little one is embossed too. The Dutch Dare Card challenge this week is to use glitter and or bling. I did both to my butterfly. And did I mention that I struggled with this? I made the butterfly and did not like the colors. I could not figure out what I wanted to do with it, but finally settled on what you see here. ...
I finally got motivated to make a Father's Day card. It will be here sooner than you think. I used the weekend sketch challenge sketch and also fulfilled the Flourishes challenge to make a square card. I even did a little to the inside of this one. Stamp : Tim Holtz; Hampton Arts Paper : BasicGrey Accent: Fiber, button Tools: Nestabilities labels two I've listed this one in my shop , just in case you run out of time or have trouble making masculine cards.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 And in particular, the U.S. soldier, who lays down his life for friend, family, and those that don't support him, so we may all enjoy our freedoms. Happy Memorial Day. I hope you have lots of fun, as well as some time for reverence and reflection.
I used the sketch at Stamp Something for this card, along with StampTV's color challenge. I never have a sympathy card on hand when I need one, and I decided I like this color combo for a sympathy card after making the one I shared yesterday, so that's what I made. Paper : BasicGrey wisteria Stamp : A Year of Flowers, GinaK Designs Accents : brads
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I found a little time to do some stamping. I'm catching up on some challenges. Here is my card for Mojo Monday 87. I'm a little late with this but fairly early to submit it for the OCC challenge this week, which is to use a sentiment as the focal. The sentiment on this card is from Verve. I love this quote. The colors were inspired by the PCP color challenge . Paper : HOTP; Bazzill Stamp : Verve Accents : rhinestone Tools : Cuttlebug swiss dots folder; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; Nestabilities circles and scalloped circles; scalloped scissors
I just squeezed in this card for the CPS sketch this week. Sympathy cards aren't my favorite to have to make, but I needed one so I used the CPS sketch 116 . Here is the card: Paper : BasicGrey Wisteria Stamps : Heidi Grace designs; Verve sentiment Accents : flower punch; brads; ribbon Tools : Paper piercer
It's B uy a Musical Instrument Day . I'm not sure who started it or why, but nonetheless, someone has dubbed May 22 as such. This made me think of the John Mellencamp song "Play guitar." Maybe you're not really interested in buying a real instrument, but you could consider these instrument themed items from etsy. I apologize. I had another one of those busy spells and I didn't get a two for Tuesday post up last week. Here's a romantic pairing this week for that special someone. Strawberry Drops - Earrings by beadsme and Cherish card by SouthernScraps
When I posted my bag earlier for the Cuttlebug challenge I scrolled through their blog and realized there was a challenge specifically for a bag. It ends today so I quickly whipped up this one for the Creatively Yours Spotlight Sunday gift bag challenge. I decided to make this one masculine. I embossed a panel for the front with my Cuttlebug argyle folder and cut a frame for the metal embellishment with one of the stamps dies.
Today I'm sharing a cute little gift bag I just made for the Cuttlebug Challenges Be Inspired Challenge 31 - a 3D project. The template for this bag can be purchased at The DigiChick . The Cuttlebug items I used on my bag are the Flowers2 Die and the Funky Circle. I made the embellishment for the bag with these. Thanks for looking and enjoy! Close up of the embellies!
"People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." George Orwell If you notice the flags at half mast today on government buildings and wonder why, it's National Peace Officer's Memorial Day. President John F. Kennedy designated May 15 as such in 1962. The calendar week in which May 15 falls is National Police Week . 133 officers were killed in 2008. The challenge for Flourishes this week is to make a birthday card and for Stamp Something the challenge is a pink birthday something. So here it is: Paper : BasicGrey sugared Stamp : Studio G Tools : Fiskars treading water punch, Cuttlebug die Accents : Junkitz wood flower; Making Memories leather flower and brad, ribbon
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. Hubby and I traveled to see both mothers. It was a nice day. As a gift to each, I made them a set of stamped note cards with scripture or a religious sentiment on each one. I knew they would be a big hit as they are both active in church and actively minister to the needs of others. I got the impression that they both would be very selective about who receives these cards. One of the cards I made I shared last night. I used some challenge sketches for my designs so I could participate in some challenges and get these done. I used the Basic Grey Boxer paper set for each one. I think this worked out nicely to make these cards gender neutral. This card uses the sketch challenge sketch at Our Daily Bread. The stamp set is Lift up our Hands by Our Daily Bread. The next card uses the sketch from this week's challenge at OCC. The stamp is from the same set referenced above. Last is a card featuring another set from Our Daily Bread designs...
Just a really quick post to share my Mojo card using this week's sketch , then I'm off to bed. The stamp is from Verve and the paper is Basic Grey Boxer. The bling cross is from Michael's.

Something for Mom- Gift Set by ElegantRoseBoutique Card by SouthernScraps Don't forget- I'm offering free priority shipping if you purchase four cards. Offer last through today.
Boy, I have really neglected my blog lately. We have been so busy repairing/improving, reorganizing, and redecorating the house that I have not had time to scrap, make cards, or blog. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things this week. There should be a little break in the projects. I just wanted to share a cool card that is for sale in my etsy shop and let you in on a sale. The etsygreetings team has been having a promo for the last couple of weeks (I know, I've been slack in promoting too). Many shops are offering free shipping. Go to etsy.com and search EGMOM . Since it's getting close to Mother's Day, I'm changing my sale a little. Buy any four cards from my shop on Mon or Tues. May 4-5 and get FREE PRIORITY SHIPPING. This way you can still get a card for Mom on time. Thanks for stopping by. Hope to have more to share this week.
