Homemade air freshner

It's been a busy week so I haven't been able to post much. We were getting ready for a friend's wedding and I did make a project for that which I'll share later.

Since we've been cooking more, I've noticed that the house has more strange odors. I'm not a huge fan of scented candles because of the toxins, so I decided to make my own air freshner. I was inspired by Tidy Mom and The Sensible Mom. I made one for the kitchen and a smaller one for our bedroom.

I used cheese shaker from the Dollar Tree and a small Ball jar for the second one. I decided to jazz up the large one with some scrapbook paper, ribbon, and flower. The flower is a little over the top, but I like it. It's a fun piece.  To make the smaller one, I traced the lid on a piece of scrapbook paper, stuck it over the regular lid, then punched holes in both.

The formula? - baking soda and 9-10 drops of essential oil. I used orange scented essential oil.  Now the house is a little fresher.

Did you know you could make carpet freshener/cleaner with the same two ingredients? Check it out here.

I'll be sharing this here:
