I'm like you--I've been wanting to do something different with my plain old store-bought tree skirt. I keep seeing nifty tutorials to make them. I reasoned with myself that having an ugly tree skirt will motivate me to get my gifts wrapped quickly and placed under the tree in order to cover the skirt. Hee hee!
