Handmade greeting card giveaway

NOW CLOSED: I tossed the names in a hat and picked one out. The winner is Jamie!

NOTE: I've bumped this up to the top until Oct. 14. If you're looking for another post, please scroll down.  Scroll down for blog candy on World Card Making Day on Oct. 2.

Hi, and welcome to my blog and my giveaway. I'm hosting a giveaway for a set of four handmade greeting cards. Two are 5.5 inches x 4.25 inches. One is top folding and the other is a regular side fold. The other two cards are square shaped. One card is a thank you card and the others are all ocassion. All are blank inside and have been created with quality acid free papers and supplies. You will receive envelopes also.

So, what do you have to do to win?  I'm trying to improve my etsy shop and increase sales. I've recently begun some activities that have increased traffic to my shop, but still no sales. I'd like to have your feedback. Please visit my shop. Then come back and leave a comment with feedback or constructive criticism. Some things I'd like to know: Are these products you would buy? Why or why not? If you buy handmade cards/tags, do you prefer single cards/tags or sets? How many cards/tags per set? Are my prices too high? or too low? (yes, I've heard prices can be too low. If you're prices are too low your products seem cheap and inferior.) Are the shipping prices too high? too low? What about the overall shop appearance? Is it appealing or is there something driving customers away?  You may also offer any other suggestions you have. Please address at least one of my concerns in your comment to be entered. Generic comments that say "Nice shop", etc. will not be counted as entries.

For an additional entry, spread the word- your blog, twitter, facebook, etc. Leave another comment with a link to where you've spread the word.

For an additional three entries, make a purchase. Please let me know in a comment what item(s) you purchased.

Purchase is not necessary to enter. You can simply leave your comment on the shop.

This giveaway will be open until Oct. 14. I'm looking forward to your comments and appreciate your participation and honesty.

  1. I think you need more products! I like to browse more in an etsy shop. I would want to know whether the cards could be shipped with a regular stamp, and I would expect to pay about $3.50 and $1.00 shipping. Best of luck! scg00387 at yahoo dot com

  2. I think the prices on the cards seem fair. I really like the figural cards with little girls.

I think you just need to find your niche.

My favorite is the Sweet girl in coffee.

  3. I had a ton of fun exploring your shop. It looks inviting and well set out. Some thoughts are to perhaps consider also adding the words "handmade" or "handcrafted" in every description under the item to reinforce the amount of personalised attention and care that goes into each card/item.

Could you also maybe offer a set of e.g. 4 of the same card just a little cheaper or e.g. with 4 free gift tags, so people could buy one or 4? That way you might sell 4 cards instead of 1 with just one lot of packaging, shipping etc.

My fave is the Paper Tote set, but when I went back to find it, I was looking under "bags" by mistake, so maybe adding it in tht category as well may be worth considering.

Tags - I would definitely prefer a set of 4 or 6 unless a very decorative more expensive tag.

All the best with your Etsy shop.

  5. I think your products are beautiful. I don't think I would buy just one card though. When I buy cards, I am usually buying Thank you cards or birthday or christmas cards. And that usually means that I want more than one. It wouldn't matter to me if they were the same pattern or different, I would just want to purchase more at once. Say, 4 for $10 maybe? Or maybe a whole box with different collections (sympathy, thank you, birthday, etc.) for $25? That's probably the option that I would go for. :)

  7. Your offerings are really nice - I think my favorites are the gift bags (which I think you ma be selling slightly cheaper than you could), although I would love to see those in a set of four - or even better in a variety pack of sizes. Or packaged together with matching cards.

I hope that's not complicating the situation! I don't think I'd be inclined to buy just one card - I'd want to stock up. Wonder if it would be possible to set a price for multiples - buy six get one free or something like that, to encourage people get the most for their shipping fee?

  10. The cards are lovely. My favorite is the card with the butterfly.Sets of cards with matching tags or bookmarks is another idea. People are concerned about postage and the PO is getting fussy about "lumpy cards"and charging $.20 extra for cards. It has happened to me even with 1 brad or a glue dot to elevate a sentiment on a card.Hope this helps out. Happy WCMD to all!
