Happy Easter

I did not plan to post today and normally don't on Sundays, but I wanted to wish each of you a Happy Easter. A young lady in my Sunday School class shared how she was overcome with emotion and tears last night as she put together Easter baskets for her kids and stopped to think, What was Mary doing the night before Easter? She was preparing to go annoint the body of her son who she believed was dead. What grief she must have felt! I was reminded how much I love this song so I just had to share it and this young lady's profound thought. And all of the pain and suffering happended so we could have joy. While there is nothing wrong with baskets, eggs, candy and bunnies, I hope your true focus is on the cross and its meaning and purpose. Happy Easter!

Tabletop Easter vignette

With Easter coming at the end of this week, I'm a little late by blogging standards in sharing my tabletop Easter vignette, but it seems I'm always a little behind these days. I created this vignette on our sofa table in the entry with things I had on hand or created in the past.   My favorite part is the centerpiece. I love walking by each day and seeing the glitter eggs in the vase. So many pretty colors and the glitter ones really sparkle.   I placed my Bunny Silhouette plate on one side along with a free printable from The Girl Creative. Free printables are always an easy way to change up holiday decor. The other side displays my crochet egg (made by my mother-in-law) and my hydrangea egg. I also left out a photo we have out most of the year.   Hope you enjoyed viewing my little tabletop Easter vignette. Hope you have a happy and Blessed Easter too.   Linking up here: Think Pink Sundays * Under the Table and Dreaming * Sundae Sco

Casual Easter Tablescape

When I saw these fun chevron striped and polka dot plates in the Target Dollar Spot, I knew immediately I wanted to set up a fun tablescape with them. With Easter coming up, what better time to use them. I've set the back porch table in a fun casual Easter theme that would be perfect for an Easter brunch. You may have seen many of these items before- the napkins, egg candles and polka dot painted eggs I used as place holders. While I was getting the plates, I snatched up the fun paper straws from the dollar spot too. I got a pack of each color. I love to mix and match, and here I'm using the pink and green ones in some mason jars.   I used my simple spring arrangement as the centerpiece and a couple of bunny figurines to give it an Easter feel. Take the eggs and bunnies away and you've still got a fun Spring party setting.   Hope you have a fun and blessed Easter. Linking up with Tablescape Thursday and these fun parties: Think Pi

WIWW- Dressed down

Dress- Belks jacket- Old Navy shoes- Target worn April 6, 2014   I bought this dress last year on clearance. It's really pretty by itself with heels, but I decided to dress it down with a jacket and sandals. I got the inspiration for this from Penny Pincher fashion.   Do you like to dress down nicer items for a casual vibe?   Linking up to WIWW.   Are you following me on pinterest? I've been breaking down my My Style board into Spring/Summer style and Fall/Winter Style.   Neutral, year round/ work related items will stay on the old board.

How to make a simple spring arrangement

These do not cost you any more to click or purchase, but provide me a small income if you do.      I saw this bright green decorative watering can in the Target Dollar Spot and knew it would be a darling base for a spring arrangement. I took some supplies I had on hand and whipped up a bright cheery arrangement in a few minutes. I'm going to show you how to do this. (This is so easy, I should be embarrassed to call this a post.)   Here are the supplies you will need:   1. Container for base   2. Floral foam 3. Silk daisies or other bright faux flowers   4. (Not pictured)  cutting tools    My mom gave me a Floracraft floral foam knife for Christmas and it cuts through foam like butter, and leaves less mess. You will also need some type of wire cutter to cut the stems of your flowers if you purchase them in a bunch.     Cut your foam to fit inside the container. Trim your flowers into individual stem
