Loft feather brooch knock off

A couple of weeks ago I went into a Loft store for the very first time ever. As with their online inventory, I found much of their stuff out of my price range. However, I did find great inspiration for some projects. One of them was this feather brooch .  I fell in love but not with the $18.50, so I went to Michael's and purchased some feathers  (or plumes as they are labeled on the bag). I already had felt, pin backs, and jewels at home. Even if I had to buy everything, I could probably get all the supplies for $12-$15 and make numerous brooches. At this point, I've made four.

My beach mantel

I resisted the urge to redecorate the mantel as long as I could. After Halloween , Christmas , Valentine's Day , and Easter , I told myself I was not going to do anything else until we complete the makeover of this mantel and TV space. That may still be a long time coming and I got inspired by some beach and shell themed decor I saw around blog land. Knowing that I had some diy hurricanes and a box of seashells collected over the years, I decided that I should put them to use again. I'm glad I did. Here's my beachy mantel (warning: lots of pictures to follow).

I started creating things for Estelle to wear, and then decided to sell them. Many of the things for sale on my etsy site include pacifier clips, hair bows, customized onesies, and a few other things. My blog focuses on crafting, coupons, recipes, and scrapbooking. Winner of Sweet Floweret giveaway and apology

The winner of the scripture key fob is Heather Nash! Congrats and thanks for entering. To the rest of my readers, I apologize. First of all, when I posted this giveaway in the sidebar, I forgot to change the end date from the previous giveaway. You may have thought it was already over. My fault. My apologies to you and to Tina. Secondly, if you clicked over to visit the Sweet Floweret blog, then you saw that she has decided to take a summer vacation and posted this the day after her feature was posted. So, you may have been thinking, why follow someone who isn't going to post? and you may have been skeptical to enter the giveaway thinking maybe she wouldn't follow through. I  can't blame you. I might have thought the same. I'm apologizing because I want to bring you credible giveaways and features. I'm not saying she's not following through, as she is still running her shop. I just think this was a little untimely. Had I known she would go on vacation from t
